Default Home celll phone signal booster

We live on the border of cell service. There are $200+ repeaters that supposedly work - This would be for our home. The Willson ones are like $200 to $500. Would this type do anything? Anyone have any experience. This would be for Verizon cells. Verizon will not sell any such products.

Grunt,

I have the older version of the Digital Antenna unit at my home. It requires a direct connection to the phone. I go from 0 to 1 bars to a full six bars of signal with this. Only problem is, I'm the only one that can use it. Good thing is, it works in house, car and boat. The new one's below, are more powerful and wireless, so the phone doesn't have to be plugged in. Benefit is better signal, not tied down to one spot, and everyone in the house gets great signal. Bad thing is that it has two antennas that have to be seperated by 20 to 40 feet depending on model. Hope this helps.

Doug

We live in a "dark hole" for cell phone reception. I installed a Wilson antenna on our motorhome. Without it, my Nokia reads "No Service" but when it is hooked up to the antenna, I get two to three bars. This is an antenna by Wilson like many of the truckers use. I gave fifty bucks for it at a truck stop. It makes the difference in getting out and not getting out at many other locations when I am camping on a lake. Trouble is, none of the newer phones have an external antenna connection.

I have an older digital Nokia with an external antenna connection on the back using a mini RCA connection. The Wilson is permanently mounted on the motorhome. An adaptor is used between the phone connection and the coax for the antenna.

I have the Digital unit here at home. It works great when nearby the indoor antenna. The signal does not like to go thru walls and floors. I also don't have the proper separation between the 2 antennas and that could be some of my problem. It's not worth MSRP but I bought it for much less than that so I give it a 3.5 out of a total of 5 "bars".

Edit- I went to the ebay site you listed. I expected to see something other than what was shown. I had one of those gizmos back around 94ish. I had it right on the back window of my truck close to the pull out antenna of my flip phone. Save your coins. It didn't do squat.

The marina we keep our boat in is very rural with spotty cell service. A couple of years ago, we bought a Yaggi antenna and mounted it on the roof of the marina with a cable running down and connecting to the cell phone. Works great but only one cell phone can be hooked in at any one time.
Look on EBay for antennas and cable and you should be able to do this for under $100
