Default Pool experts!!

My pool liner came out last week - it was overfull and the "lip" was partway out (due to normal winter freezing, etc.) and I didn't check it before I let the neighbors kids go in - well the lip came out and slowly spread to about a 5 foot section and eventually lost all the water. In so doing it streetched a bit - see photos. Is this liner reuseabe?? I have replaced the sand where needed underneeth and evened out the "bed". New liner is like $250 but backlogged for at least 2 weeks.

I can scootch it over to make it even across the diamater. Its a 15 year liner in its 5th year. An 18 foot pool. Any ideas or advice? Also is this a beaded or "J channel- some sites have 2 types of non-overlap liners.

Thanks

Bob

Growing up we had an above ground 18' pool and it lasted over 20 years! It overlapped the rim by at least 8" , I think that was the reason it lasted so long. I would consider a new overlap type that would be able to stand-up to the seasonal expansion & contraction.

Hook it back up and then use clothes pins to hold it in place. Except in one little spot, where you slip the spout of a shop vac between the liner and the pool side. Turn the vac on and let it pull the air out. Then see if you can smooth out the wrinkles. You may have to turn the vac on and off to move the liner side around. I also like to do this in the middle of the day after the sun warms the liner and makes it more pliable.

I use to install above ground pools as a side line and I presently have one in the back yard. I like the over the side liners much easier to deal with but not as good a finish.

That's a j-channel liner. Easy fix also. Remove any leftover water and start filling the pool slowly. Be sure the bottom is devoid of wrinkles asap and liner is hanging as straight as possible. The liner should snap back into place with a minium amount of effort but be sure the lip actually locks. As the pool fills, start working the liner to where there is no slack and hanging straight down, From the looks of the photo, you need to work the liner to the left asap. Be sure the cove at the bottom is properly positioned as well. Take your time and fill slowly and pay attention, equalizing all slack at the top. The seam should be 90 degrees to both top and bottom as well. Hopefully, both the intake and outflow are both in their proper position. If not they need to be addressed as well. Once again, take your time.

It is probably not stretched it is just out of place.

Try the vac deal, won't cost you a thing.
