Default Gulfcoast Newbie!

Hey guys.

I am new here, and pretty new to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Wife and I moved down here from Birmingham, AL last year. Wife took a new job here at Mississippi Power, and I am self-employed so I jumped at the chance to be at the beach.

We got here just in time for the hurricane. Everything is finally settling down, and I have really started fishing. Mainly off of the jetties and around piers and such, but last weekend my neighbor took me out with him on his new boat and took me around the islands fishing.

What can I say, I am HOOKED. He is selling his old boat, and it has really gotten my brain thinking hard and I have decided to take the plunge. I am seriously thinking of buying his boat, but I need to look around locally a bit more and see just how good of a deal it is.

The best part is my wife is all about it.

So wish me luck down this new path

The boat is a Wellcraft 190CCF 19'. I has an Evinrude 112 SPL. It also comes on a brand new (never been in the water) Sport Trail alum trailer.

He has had this boat since it was brand new. Wanna say it is a 92. With the exception of the motor showing some paint wear, the boat looks pretty much brand new to me. Its in damn near perfect shape. He is pretty anal about rinsing the motor and keeping the boat spotless and it shows.

And thanks for the replies So much to read and learn!
