Default Camp Rebuild... Buras, La.

I lost my camp in Buras, La from hurricane Katrina. I'm ready to rebuild and I've decided to go with conventional construction on a pier foundation. I'd like to go as hurricane proof as possible. I've heard of all kinds of new construction, from metal buildings to foam-core exterior walls, etc... I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with hurricane resistant construction like this, or if anyone can recommend a builder or manufacturer that may handle something like that. Any advice or opinions will really help. Even Google wasn't much help. Seems that many of these builders havent broken into the Gulf Coast market just yet. Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to add... need something 4br 2-2.5 baths, one level.

If you want conv. stick framing then they make little metal ties that help hold everything to gether. But some of the homes in Diamond Head were hurricane "proof" construction built to resist 130mph winds and they did not stand up to the initial storm surge and then the heavy seas which pounded homes 12ft in the air.

There is a dome home in Pensacola that has withstood several hurricanes. I checked it out in january and the only damage that you could see was the missing stairs which the builder said were break away.
