Default Still smoking, Darn it.

My wife signed me up for the program that baitkiller used. (Thank You, Big Time)
She said it would be Monday. Well, I busted my but yesterday to finish everything early and leave time for a snack before the “Get smashed to quit smoking shot.” I roll back into town, on my time line and called momma to get ready.
“It’s next Monday.” She says. DOH.
Anyway, we need an update from baitkiller on how he is doing, and if I remember right he is working on an old Trojan.
Baitkiller
If you need a piece of 1 inch 316 SS shafting for a prop shaft PM me and I’ll give you my number. I redid an old wood 24 Trojan with the 302 Ford and BW velvet drive many years ago. BTW the old velvet drives used the Ford C7 clutch plates. Good to know if your rebuilding the tranny.
Six more days to go and no more smokes. Thank God.
Will keep you posted.

TB
I haven’t seen you around much. Good to see you back.
Sorry just doesn’t convey the sentiment. How about a beer the next time I have to run to Lake Mary?
Thanks to all for the support.
I have studied the pharmacology of this treatment and feel certain it will do the trick. Baitkiller’s positive results are icing on the cake. The patches almost worked for me until I got jammed with a programming job that took 4 days of 14 -16 hours a day. They were feeding me BarBQ and iced tea and swisher cigars to get the job done.

Buck Tails,
You can do it buddy. Just think how good you’ll feel tomorrow.

It'll do you good Monstro. Compared to what you've been through, this'll be nothing. Good luck!

Day 26 today. Still going strong. I get these little urges now and again but the reaction is kinda wierd. Its like, Oh, i must be hungry or even worse Ill see some butts on the ground and get all grossed out. Not the end of the road but I can see it from here. Good luck Monstro. I have talked another buddy into it too. He goes next week. Your gonna crack up when you pull into the lot of a smoking clinic and see 6 people hot boxing their last smokes in parking lot. The ash tray is overflowing. I cant wait to fly with a layover and not Jones.

See you at the SKA in two weeks.

What is this treatment plan you guys are talking about for quitting? Sounds interesting.

I'm interested too. I did it cold turkey once & quit for two years. Then one puff led to another. "hey pal, can you spare a cigarette?". After a few days, I was back on full time.
I recently went to "The Mad Russian" up in Boston. He's a famous guy & people fly in from all over the world for his "treatment". I didn't do it for me. I still have the ball and chain pack a day addiction.
I now have two small kids and I have to stop, not just for me but for them.

The website is http://www.stopsmokingnaples.com .
The program uses medication to block the brain from feeling the urge to smoke from the reduced nicotine in your blood stream.
There is better information on the website.

Sixteen months here and going strong. Just to let you know though...you still get the urge from time to time even at this point. But it passes very fast.

Good luck...you'll be much better off without them.

Not that it means anything to me, no sir.

You CAN do it.

We may not agree on a lot of issues but I respect your willpower and the tenacity it took to end this disgusting addiction.
Mondays coming and if this treatment is the crutch I need to achieve my goal I’m not too proud to take advantage of it.
Thanks for the support.

Not sure about the LASER thing. Other than the one tinmarine and I planed on using to fry terrorist.
My treatment involves injections of medication that effects how the brain processes nicotine withdraw symptoms. There is also one where they shock your ear. There may even be one method that requires a large tube of KY and several hookers.
I’m banking on this treatment. baitkiller has gone 27 days now and it has worked for him.
I’m not sure I want LASERS on my face to stop smoking.
To stop the hair growing on my ears. Ok But to stop smoking.?????
Check the web.

Smoked for 20 years, then one day my then 6 year old boy came out to the back yard and pretended to smoke "just like his dad". Looked at him, put out my cigar, and never smoked again.

It took me about two years to lose the desire to smoke, but you can do it if the reasons for quitting are strong enough.

Good luck,

Tom O
