They are all doing fine now. Although we were up every two hour around the clock for the first couple of weeks nursing a sickley one.

They are five weeks old now

Ahhh. The days of yellow stained newspaper and the smell of puppy poop.

That's a pretty good looking bunch of dogs you've got there Dale.
How was the father? Did you hire out the service? Are they registerible?
So how many of them are you going to keep for yourself?

Now I've got to ask, in that second picture there is a device on the left side of the kennel with what appears to be a lite red light, what's that for?

My bride has always wanted one of those. How much are you asking for them if any are for sale.

They are AKC, but, more important, they are CKCSC (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club)

CKCSC sets some pretty high standards of behavior for the breeders. These dogs are dual registered, and can compete in any show there is. In this breed, AKC is nice for openers, but CKCSC means alot too.

Of course I hired out the breeding, you didn't think I did it, did you? Although, seriously, I wouldn't mind making that kind of money for one night's work.

These little guys have better bloodlines than I do. Their father is Pascavale Ryan, he is a champion in AKC, EKC, and CKCSC, In 2004, he won best in breed at Crufts dog show in England, their Mother is not a finished Champion, but she could be with a little more effort on our part. She has good breeding behind her too. There is still time, she is only two years old. Plus she has a very sweet temperament, even for this breed, which is known for good temper and personality, she is a sweetie.

That little red light is an indicator light, The box has a heated dish recessed into it. Once it is up to temp, the light stays lit. If it is out, something is wrong. That thing is really great, it keeps the box the perfect temp, exactly where you set it, without messing with heat lamps or anything else. Naturally, the wife discovered it AFTER I had the box built, so I had to raise the floor another 1/2' to clear it.

The wife is pretty sure she is keeping one, not sure which one though. Tough choice.

dwg2116 - Those pups are GORGEOUS!!!!! Great job, Momma Dog!!!

So, I see that she just had 4 pups. How'd ja do that!? Some people I work for have a Great Dane they took to have bred and she was ONLY supposed to have 7 and ended up with 13~~~~!!! One died so they had an even dozen to look after and sell. What a mess.........mostly for ME!! (I'm the household manager~!) Dang! They were CUTE, but BOY was I glad when they all got sold. Whew~! Made MY life a lot easier. HA!!!

On a side note ~ took a good look at "Ladybird" (that blonde German Shepherd that hangs out at our house when it's convenient) and the eldest son and I notice that her teats are engorged! Oh, NOOOOOO~~~!!!! We figured she was either fixed or sterile after nearly a year of gettin' nailed by whatever she was travelin' with and NOT havin' pups. Looks like she DEFINITELY ain't fixed................OR sterile.....
