Default The media surprise

My thoughts and prayers are with the folks in the W VA mining town.

I'm also not surprised what happened last night with the change of stories.

All of our media outlets continue to bend the truth to be "first with the story". They even report on each others stories AS IF THE FACTS ARE TRUE!

Enough of the Reality News coverage......creating news stories for ratings.

Is anyone Credible any more??

I last saw credibility with the press as it was whirling around in the bottom of the toilet bowl years ago. All they want to do these days is be first to report, regardless of whether it's true or not. And even add their own spin and BS while spouting false information.
If people really do go to hell for lying, I know who I'll see when I get there.............

The media whether it be paper, radio or tv they really do stretch and bend the truth. In fact so much that at times it doesn't even match the event(s). I guess there is no money in the truth?
What troubles more is how the media shelters truly news worthy stories and abruptly bring them to an end well before there time.

My bottom line is, I trust the media as much as I trust politians.

In the USSR, there were 2 main newspapers. Pravda - Truth, and Isvestia - News. Everything in Pravda was old and Isvestia was propaganda. A common joke was "There is no News in the Truth, and no Truth in the News.

So we could have it worse.

This is horrible! There should be a little more regulation as to how soon the outcome of a tragedy is broadcast. All the facts should be in order, and not guessed.Every little car chase is televised, every plane crash, every fire,robbery,etc... I don't know about you people, but I don't want or need to see every event like this on television every second. No wonder so many people are nuts nowadays.

The problem started when the word "responsible" was removed from the phrase "responsible journalism".

We have to remember that our constitution gaurantees freedom of the press the same as it does freedom of speech. However, freedom of speech does not include yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre. Neither should freedom of the press.

God be with the families in WVa.
