After donating blood today I was wondering how many THT'ers donate.
With the holiday season here there is a greater need for it due to accidents , believe it or not.

STARVE A MOSQUITO.....................DONATE BLOOD

By the way I'm type A-

I tried once, results were very ugly. I like the idea, but doesn't work out too well for me.

Regular donor, don't much care for the needle, don't like the procedure, but I get'er done anyway.

Once a year come heck or high water, more often if some one I know is being operated on and needs blood exchange. I think in 2004 I got drained 4 times, the plant nurse pitched a tantrum when she found out.

However, I resched. for next Thurs. BUT ONLY FOR A CLEANING!!!

I'm only not a wimp when it comes to SOME things - like giving blood. Having wisdome teeth cut out is a WHOLE other story!

But thank you for CARING!!

At least you are wise enough to have wisdom teeth

The Admiral gave blood more than 100 times . . . she had to stop about 10 years ago because of the medication she is taking

And I always heard that you got Hepatitis from Pamela Anderson!

I tried to give a couple of years ago, and they refused me when they asked if I had been to Haiti in the past so many years and I answered yes. Do they still turn you away if you have visited certain countries in the recent past? I would like to give but have been too lazy to ask if the rules have changed.

Dan

I don't have to remember to volunteer. The blood clinic tends to call me atleast once a year. They say I have one of the rare blood types at B+ so it apparantly does not take long for them to get short on their stock.

I'm called regularly and will give if I'm in town. Just gave 3 days ago. A nice benefit from this Red Cross unit is that they give you your total cholesterol # five days after you give. That gives extra incentive to get there when the R/C bus arrives.

I have B+ also and get calls when they're in need. I absolutely hate needles and always have - but in a time of need, I'm there.

You men and women that give are awesome.

for those that don't give ,you might aught to try it at least once, heck ya get a free T-shirt,cookies and juice but the best thing[ besides saving a life ] is you get to find out what type of blood you have. It is something that could save your own life by not having to wait to get typed in the event of an emergency.
