When we had the old signal system along the railroad tracks, people would steal the copper code lines the dispatcher used to line the signals up, you also had a power line in there the ran the bulbs...yeah some of the thieves weren't too smart and cut into a live wire, burnt to a crisp. We now have underground fiber optic lines for the signals. That sucks man, sorry to hear.

It happens here every day. When will the authorities start cracking down on these recycle scrap yards that take all this copper from bums and crack heads? Like they don't know where it comes from, crack head shows up with bundles of fresh cut copper pipe or long runs of heavy gauge copper wire.

You know they steal the wire from street lights around here? Once they stole the copper wire from the street lights which resulted in a fatal car accident. And on another incident the copper wire crook got himself electrocuted and killed himself.

Every night on the news there is another church or other business that had the AC units stripped. People are spending thousands on new AC units and having to cage them in bars, and they still get stripped.

I'm sorry but some of these copper thieves need to be shot dead to make a point.

That's what my guy there said also....pex pipes are pretty standard now due to this epidemic.....Not even worth reporting it as cops can't do anything about it.

The point that the sob made by leaving the water running is what really gets me.....6" of water across a full sized 1500 sq ft of floor.....I just robbed you and oh yeah, flooded your basement too!!!!

These guys are getting more and more ambitious as well. They use to only go after the ac coils on empty homes. We had a customer come from church on Sunday and call us that her ac was not working. My tech told her to check the breakers to make sure they were on. She said she will call him right back. She called him back in tears. They stole her ac unit while she was at church. Are you F*****g kiddin me.
They have put a lot of restrictions on the local scrap yards but it has not slowed these guys down at all.
