Default Dock Spiders

I stopped counting the spiders on my dock once I got past 235,450,812. They are causing a mess with their greasy little shit stains.

Is there anything I can use to control the population? I have a fitted mooring cover, but still have to deal with this every couple of weeks. They get in and under EVERYTHING. I can knock the webs off the dock and there are hundreds the next day. Not to mention the wife is deathly afraid of spiders.

I picked up an 8 gallon pump sprayer and want to soak the whole damn dock with something..

Not to be confused with T-Top spiders. These are dock spiders. The long skinny brown ones, and the short fat ones with the light gray abdomens.

Bifen I/T. Found it. Never heard of it.

http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/bi...mac=4&zmap=226

The active ingredient is 7.9% Bifenthrin. Which, is quite substantial compared to the .05% in Ortho Home Defense MAX (the only stuff that seems to control the bugs in the house).

Thanks. I ordered some. Hope it doesnt kill all the fish.

Hope it works. I read somewhere (maybe the Bifen label?) that spiders aren't going to get killed by application onto a surface, because they walk on their tiptoes (wrong word, right idea ) and the poison can't get into their system because they don't lick their feet.

let us know if you have luck with the spiders.

P.S. spiders need food, so if you have a lot of wasps or flies around the dock, then Bifen will kill them and...with food supply depleted, the spiders might leave on their own.

I think I made matters worse by installing a Mercury Dusk/dawn light out there and leaving it on. That mofo is bright and attracts bugs like crazy. I'll leave it off unless needed and rely on the motion sensor lights to keep people honest.

Looking forward to giving this Bifen I/T a shot. The wife uses Ortho Home Defense MAX on the Kayak and it keeps the spiders outta there.

I will take before/after pics and let y'all know how it works. My dock is the perfect proving grounds for this stuff. The spiders were so thick in the boat yesterday they clogged a scupper when I was washing it.

Spray the boat the dock the ceiling everything with Suspend SC your problem will be solved. You will have to reapply roughly every 3 months or so.

I use Bifen I/T on dock, house, yard, and trees. It kills everything that walks ,crawls, and flys. It will kill a spider dead. No new spiders because it eliminates their food source. Keep lights off at your boathouse. That will also help. Or at least move the light away from the boat and shine from a distance.

If you turn the lights off at night they won't do that.
But for security and view, I could understand if you want them on.

Ah finally a topic for Menzies and he's gone...

Look for a spray called "spider not". Used to get it from a home catalogue. Works well..

Set it on FIRE!! I mean literally burn the whole thing down to the water line! If that were my dock it's either that or move.

Can you tell I have an issue with spiders? Sorry, I know I'm zero help.

We use this in our boat house-

http://www.demonwp.com/

Make sure the area is dry before application, then mix in a pump sprayer and go to town!
