LOL .Never count it out...never said I was not a fan. I'm down there a few weeks per year. I like the people better and attitude is great, just a fan of winter. When I get old and soft I'm sure I will prefer the easy life. Btw today started -3, 30 inches of fresh snow, warmed up to 30 and I did enjoy it more then the 70's when I was in Clearwater last week.

Other than the snow the northeast sucks.

Hey Boat Hound, I'll bet that all of the people that send you weather reports are yankee transplants. We natives would tell you all about the heat and skeeters and hurricanes.

But that state gets its fair share or misery weather wise this time of the year.

I would'nt exactly call it Key West.

Why do you insist on ruining my home too. Let the fun begin.

I could not agree more

Fl. is a bad place to live and Ga. is bad also so y'all don't venture any farther south than Tn. and S.C. and that will save you time and money.
As for places to live and polls why don't you conduct a poll to see how many people that in Fl.that would like to move North. We will remain south.
Thank you thank you very much

Sorry you think that.

The east coast definitely does including Daytona and the general Miami area. The Miami area is like living in Cuba.

The only central area I ever visited was the greater Orlando area with the family and we had a blast. Nice place to visit but would not want to live there.

The west coast does not suck, at least in the St. Petersburg, Fort Meyers, Sanibel Island areas. Always had a great time there on vacation but would not want to live there because of our touristee northerners.

The Keys offer a lot of diving and fishing opportunities but even Marathon is not the same as when my family vacationed down there. Nice place to visit right now but would not want to live there.

The panhandle is an area I never visited so no comment.

Just my take. If you do not like the way Florida is being reshaped then move as you do not own the State. Sorry if you think northerners ruined things but you had a chance and a voice to prevent it yet you sat on your hands.

I think Texas would be a great option for you.

As for my take on where I live........spring, summer and fall are fantastic. The Great Lakes are terrific waters to fish and boat, especially since there are no fish or critters in it that can kill you.

Winter can be tolerable, especially if you are into ice fishing, snowmobiling and skiing or generally loving the cold weather. It can also be terrible as we recently witnessed in the New England area.

I guess to each their own. Sorry if I offended anyone with my posts yesterday.

I have wondered that many times myself.

I think it says something that I have heard folks from Maine and Vermont complain about the people from Jersey and NYC coming up there, bringing their problems with them, and trying to make their new homes just like the places they wanted to escape. NJ is pretty good at being NJ. The southern states are terrible at being NJ.

I get what your saying, but after living half my life hearing how great the ''Change of Seasons'' was I moved to Florida. Realized that living half my life indoors was not the way I wanted it to be.

Nothing like sunshine and palm trees to keep your spirit alive. Got a house in the water in Madeira Beach and didn't look back. New England is just a $300 plane fare and a weekend away when I need it!

That's just a ruse. They are planning to move here. They just won't admit it openly.

Those reports are coded messages to their compatriots that haven't made the leap yet.

Yeah, we've got plenty of things that can kill you here in Florida. Besides the popular villians - sharks and the alligators, there are also crocodiles, venomous snakes (6 different ones), panthers (few), bears (okay little ones, but they are still bears), disease carrying mosquitoes (A little dengue fever anyone? Perhaps some encephalitis?). Oh and lest we forget, all the invasive species (no, I'm not talking about snowbirds ). Pythons, lionfish, melaleuca (a tree that just about everyone I know is allergic to).

Weather is another thing we have to deal with on an almost daily basis. Sure, your pals are probably sending you photos from chamber of commerce days. It's all the other days that suck. While we don't have snow storms, we do have tornados, wildfires, hurricanes, dangerous heat waves, torrential downpours, flooding. Did I mention lightning. We have more deaths by lightning than all other states combined. The list goes on.

Hell, with all the problems Florida has, count your lucky stars that you are where you are. Yeah, Florida sucks. Tell all your freinds.
