Default Hitachi Power Tools

anyone own hitachi tools? i looked at a 18v drill last night in lowes, and it looked nice....good weight and appears to be well built....and the combo set is cheaper than the dewalt and appears to be of comparable quality.

l'd like to have that dewalt combo set, but i don't think it's worth $500 to me.....i'll probably just buy a drill, although i was tempted to buy the skill 18v combo set for $179, but if it's that cheap, there's a reason - i've never owned skill tools, but at that price, i'm sure you pay for what you get.

also, does panasonic make a combo set? if they do, i can't find it.....i've heard a lot of GREAT reviews from panasonic owners. i think i might shell out the dough for a panasonic.

Any Hitachi tools I ever used on a jobsite, worked very well. I was also looking at the 18v Cordless at Lowes. I wanted the Heavy Duty version, but they were out. I really don't care for the 18v DeWalt I have, but it was a gift.

I have the 18 volt xrp De Walt with hammer drill and I love it. I got the drill/HD and impact driver set for $215 at Lowe's. I have had several brands over the years, all used daily, and I keep going back to the De Walts.

The new Hitachi stuff looks wild! Some crazy graphics on those things.

I tend to beat the piss out of my cordless drills. I do alot of deck building and home improvement. Just bought the Hitachi DS 18DMR. Be interesting to see how well it holds up. It has great torque.
