Default Smoked Sailfish

What are your thoughts on killing sailfish to smoke?

It is excellent smoked. I have caught more than a few but I only kept my first one. Because it was my first. Since then every one has been released alive and well

Over the (many) years I have been given many by charter guys, I smoke for half. I don't kill sailfish as a rule but have had a few badly gut or gill hooked and had 2 actually die on the line......

You can smoke Mullets and Bluefish,both fish are perfect for smoking and alot less controversial killing.

ive never tried smoked sailfish but dont ever grill it, it took at least a week to get the taste out of my mouth, only a couple mounths later i learned that sailfish urinate out of there skin, hope i dident ruin your appetite

My thoughts...Hmmm use some kosher salt brine for a day..Get some australian pine smoke at 200 degrees for 2-4hrs..Make some dip..
