Random Quote: I got a boat for my wife. What a great trade!
This may be a tough question to answer but I figured I would ask anyways. What does everyone think the best career field is to get into for the future? I know this is a wide-open question but I would like to see what people think...
If your a strong person and you want a non office environment, taking charge of situations, sometimes exciting work and never the same day twice, try Law Enforcement. The pay is not super but it is OK. Benefits are OK and not as good as 20 years ago but nothing is. Get any 4 year degree and get some local experience in a big city then go Federal. After 22 years, I still enjoy helping people and putting those that need to go jail in jail... Good Luck

Thanks for you service here at home.
Now if we could just throw away the keys once you get them in there
My goal at the young age of 19 is to become a professional Detailer/ yacht maintenance. Run a yard/ marina and have country wide Mobile detail company. Its all about expanding and growing into something big over time. Being your own boss has many benefits and downfalls tho. MANY tell me it cant be done.. go to college and get a desk job, I say Thanks that gives me more motivation!

Finding key people that care, are on time and are as honest as you are will be the hurdle.
When you are responsible for employees being on other peoples "Pride and Joy", then if something is not 100% correct, you will be the one receiving the phone calls.
The idea sound good. Finding the right employees will be the kicker. Then they MUST preform the task to a tee every time.
I wish you all the luck in the world.
If you hate the work no amount of money will offset it.

Good advice there! You didn't say you age, schooling, any training, likes, dislikes, etc
I actually had some good opportunities as a young man. What I found out fairly early in life was what I didn't like.
I didn't like:
Driving a garbage truck.
Working 2nd shift.
Working in a factory.
Working for someone else.
I ended up self employed as a HVAC contractor. Being a small business man won't make you rich, comes with long hours and a lot of headaches. It did pay the mortgage, kids schooling and was very satisfying and rewarding to help others in need. I got to work with hundreds, maybe thousands of different people that needed my services. I was on a first name basis with most of my customers and they were happy to "run into me" at the grocery store. Some customers were old and couldn't pay too much (that was OK, I didn't charge them muc, if at all), others were filthy rich building a multi million dollar second home. One customer was on the front page of Time magazine (started People Express)?. Another was Katharine (Kate) Hepburn, quite a character. Most were people heading off to their job just happy that when they got home they would have AC or Heat or Hot Water or whatever was broken was fixed. I wasn't much of a businessman, if you want to be personally involved in all that goes on, you won't make a lot of money.
If you look in the want ads; Healthcare or most trades. If your undecided, join the military. If making a lot of money is your goal, own the business, have a good product and good employees. Obviously, being a doctor, lawyer, corporate accountant, etc are going to be high paying jobs.

I would have to agree with others about really thinking about what interest you or you enjoy doing and then find someone that is successful at it and take them to lunch and ask as many questions as they will allow. Then try to intern doing that job even if it is without pay before you spend time and money working toward a career and find out it is not what you expected or thought it was.
