Default 1954 Concept Old's Rocket F88

I know we have lots of Car Buffs on THT, just thought I would share this great looking car. Wish I could say it was mine

The world's rarest automobile. A 1954 Concept Old's Rocket F88
The only one in existence. John S. Hendricks, (Discovery Communications founder) paid in excess of 3 million to acquire.

1954 Oldsmobile F-88 Convertible Concept Car After spending decades as a collection of parts stuffed into wooden crates – the F-88 was reassembled. In 1954 – the F-88 was a Motorama “Dream Car” and was one of only two – or an unconfirmed possible three ever created. The F-88 seen here is literally the only car left of its kind – and was sold to John and Maureen Hendricks at the prestigious Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona for an unbelievable $3,240,000. This acquisition made automotive history and is the “cornerstone” of the Gateway Colorado Automobile Museum in its own special room in a rotating display worthy of the F-88!

Pretty wild! Several of my Uncles had 50's Olds and Buicks when I was a kid, they were cool cars (we were poor and just had Chevys)

Harley Earl just pimped out a 1954 Corvette. Not saying it is not a show stopper and breathtaking but it is still a Corvette. I was going to post this I just got it in an email so I guess it is making the rounds.

Default I might have sat in or slammed the door on that car

I grew up on the same barrier island as the steel Pier General Motors Exhibition building. They always had a few concept cars on display with the regular new models. Us little kids were always sneaking past the roped off areas to sit in the cars that were off limits. Yea that was me as a kid. And the doors used to close {or slam} with such a solid thud back then.

Stunning, yes a little too much 54 Vette in it, but still a refreshing departure from today's boring committee driven designs coming out of Detroit. Drive it? Uhh no, too many chatting soccer moms in their Escalades.

In that last picture, shouldn't the panels line up better? Something like that should reduce the price $200k or so, right?
