Default Boat Name: Ship of Fools

In the process of getting a new (to us) boat (express).

My wife and kids like the name "Ship of Fools". Hopefully she's not referring to my seamanship skills. I'm not sure if the name is a good idea. What would this sound like on the VHF?

Mayday, Mayday. This is the Ship of Fools and we are taking on water.

.. or ...

The Ship of Fools is out of fuel...

I'm going to keep looking for a better name.

The bottles stand as empty now, as they were filled before
Time there was and plenty, but from that cup no more
Though I could not caution all, I still might warn a few
Don't lend your hand to raise no flag atop no ship of fools

Ha, that's funny.

I didn't know the songs... a quick google and learned that both Elvis Costello and The Grateful Dead did a song about the ship of fools...

I don't get out much...

Thanks.

Not very original - I have seen boats with that name for years.

Don't know if I'd name a boat after ship of fools. The sunshine daydream, on the other hand, sound nice.

Just give it some time - it will come to you. Hell I named my "Babesaurus" there is a little story behind this one and actually the name came easy.

I'm leaning towards "Happy Time".

Our youngest was probably 3 on a vacation in mexico. He kept asking how long to happy time (ie. happy hour) when the drinks were 2 for 1. They would get kids smoothies and of course we'd get the cheep run drinks...

No, my wife's was referring to the fools being all of us (including 3 boys). My self worth/confidence is doing fine.

My issue was mostly with how it would sound across the radio if we ever needed help. We kept laughing about how it would sound... the ship of fools is sinking.. etc.

We're still working on one... getting the kids involved. Heck, that's half the fun.
