I was actually half thinking the same - but I really know veryvery little about fish and fishing- I don't go offshore anymore and catch bluefish and an occassional striper if they are so stupid as to almost jump in the boat and have plenty of fun just catching and releasing them - I found using single hooks and taking the barbs off the hooks you can usually almost just let the swim off the hook afetr yo get them near the boat... My kids almost died laughing one day as I was backing down a bit too close into a feeding frenzy of blues in the river here and one actually jumped into the engine well- as we were leaving we found baitfish all over the front of the boat
I actually have 3 fishing boats right now and basically pretend to fish unless I am out with friends that really like to catch stuff. Usually, the fish pretend to bite so it works out well. Just love being out on the water with family and friends.....
Onceat Montaulk we stopped to see them weigh in the supposedly record shark of some unusual kind that was riddled with bullet holes - really disgusting sight for the kids ....
Anyway I am now wondering if even the law enforcement types have to do a DNA test, how is the regular fisherman supposed to know? Take out a Q-tip and get a saliva swab from the mouth and sent it in?
