This morning I saw the "contacts and friends" function

Can someone explain to me what this does?

I can not find what this function does?

It's in the User Control Panel > Networking > Contacts and Friends

also if you click on your screen name > View Profile they're listed to the right....if you have any

Well...........I didn't know how to bring this up.......but since you mentioned it..........I have this heavy old couch in an attic apartment, 4th floor, I need some help with................buddy, friend. Thanks for caring
