I am so sick of that one. It's so overused and worn out that when I encounter someone that uses that phrase frequently, I find it hard to take them seriously.

Reminds me of that "buzzword bingo" IBM commercial.

When the check comes at the end of dinner (or anything that cost money),

"I'm cash poor right now, I'll catch you on the next one"

I have never liked,
"Shut up!"
I prefer, "Please be quiet".

"What!?" (Stated abruptly!)
I prefer, "Pardon me?"

--------------------------------------------------

Just like the thread about spelling and grammar, it is telling about a person if they use "catch phrases" especially the old, worn out, over used ones.
It is really telling if they are used incorrectly, like "That's as useful as tits on a board"
All of us may be guilty once in a while.

Thanks for more amusement.
I guess I just have a sunny disposition. Life is far more amusing than it is annoying.

I agree!
At work, commercial construction, I have stated,
"I'm only here for the entertainment".
I'm sure I have amused my share of coworkers also.
