Most cars today have non mechanical links from the pedal to the combination continious variation transmissions and the fuel system on the engine. They are mostly all fly by wire. That was the big reason that they didnt want cel phones used in the early commercial plane use. Now if toyota is having either celphone leakage or hightension lines ? or even AM radio cross over. I am no expert on this? I was told the early military fly by wire appl,ications had problems until they got them shielded enough? When you take the system apart in a lab after failure there is no problem to find also.
