Default all inclucsive resort caribbean

Hi all,
I'm getting married in early October, looking to see if anyone has recommendations for an all inclusive resort for a honeymoon in the caribbean, or possibly Mexico.

Thanks for any help.

And yes, I realize it's hurricane season then.

Ben

I was married in 2007 and for our honeymoon we went to St. Lucia and stayed at Rendzvous and had a wonderful time. It is an all inclusive and offered everything that Sandals did, but a much smaller more intimate resort.

I highly recomend it. This summer my wife and I went to Bermuda, and while it was beautiful, we both agreed that we had more fun in St. Lucia. I highly recomend it.

Went to Breezes in Montego Bay, Jamaica back about 10 years ago (I know it was a while ago), it was a blast. It was its own compound and you had plenty to do, very fun...

When I went on a cruise to Cozumel about a year ago their was a place (about a 7 or 8) near where the Cruise ships dock that we went to for the afternoon with food included that was pretty nice. I did not see the rooms but it looked descent enough.... It was called El Cid.

One of the nicest(cleanest) and most beautiful places I have ever been is Grand Caymen. It is quite expensive (at least 20 percent higher if not more) but the snorkeling, beaches and downtown shops are great.

Been to Breezes in Nassau Bahamas, was not impressed.

Don't do it! We just took a 10 day honeymoon at Sandals Negril and were bored to death by the third day. We decided to go because I got 5K in gift certificates through a reward program at work. It is nice not having to break out your wallet but the food is terrible except for the jerk chicken, burgers, fries, and beer. Save the money and spend it supporting the U.S economy or go somewere you may never be able to justify doing again..like italy, bora bora, or the maldives.

I've stayed in Riu in Ocho Rios, Jamaica a couple of times it was a blast. They have all inclusives all around the Caribbean. They recently finished one in Cabo San Lucas awhile ago and we're thinking about going to that one next.

Having been to most of the islands in the carribean and mexico. (Airline Pilot) I really like aruba or curaco. They are not a pretty as St. Lucia which I think is the most beautiful island in the carribean. Aruba and curaco are the least third world of all the islands, clean, no beggars in the street, you can eat the food and drink the water( they were the first to build desalinization plants for water.) there are alot of great resturants on both islands. I would'nt do all inclusive there. Jamacia is my least favorite place, I usually avoid it at all costs. I agree with ufg8rmike about italy and Tahiti or the maldives. If you do go to the carribean just remember the real pirates of the carribean are the cab drivers.

Good Luck, Fletch

40th Bday for my wife we went to Sandals St Lucia (they have 3 resorts there) Halcyon is the smallest and quietest, but oldest. We stayed at the Regency, lots of young people at the Grande. The latter two are newer, nicer, in my opinion. There was alot to do. We did a sailing/land tour to the volcano, a horseback BBQ on the beach (you ride the horses down into the water, very cool) and , of course, if you both dive, the diving is great, and included. You can also do other tours, fishing, dinner cruises, etc (not included). If you do go, get one of the waters edge rooms, two story with walkout 2nd story patio, small living room with wet bar. It was nice and the beach right out of our front door where people got married on a daily basis. We enjoyed it, esp me, didn't have to take alot of extra cash for drinks, dinner, etc.

Got married in oct. 08,honeymooned at Dreams in Puerta Villarta. Gated and secure,5 restaurants on site, entertainment and tours set up on site. Phenominal fishing and no locals trying to get your money. Liked it a lot more than Cancun.

Go to Cap Juluca in Anguilla. Not sure what their packages are -- it's not cheap -- but it's really sweet.

I liked the all inclusive we did in Montego Bay Jamaica, but our favorite was the Divi in Aruba. There are two resorts resorts with a beach in between, and you have full use of the restaurants in both resorts. Aruba is a little windier and a little more money, but I like the entire island and went all over. While in Jamaica, I didn't feel comfortable stepping outside the compound. I've had fun in Nassau a few times, but never did an all inclusive there.

We stayed at Iberostar Babero Suites, nice rooms. My young son got sick on the water, I think he was around 5yrs old at the time (not fun). There were a lot of non english speaking europeans there.

We went to Playa Del Carmen twice and stayed at Sandos Playacar, very nice. My wife says they just renovated so it might even be better now. Best beach in the area.

Did the almond beach resort in barbados-the no kids one

besides the pot salesmen and jetski rentals on the beach all were very accomodating-food decent for an all inclusive and relatively small.

They offered snorkling gear and you could swim out to reefs,a 16 skiff with a guide to fish with handlines, and maybe sunfish as part of the all inclusive. Other motorized things were fee based.

Wife took a tour the day I went on a shared charter(waste of time) and enjoyed her tour. They had golf and tennis also.

Country is poor but a good trip within the compound.
