The gutters are full of solid ice that extend onto the roof, and prolly behind the gutter against the soffit.
At night is is refreezing and melting a bit during solar times. The ice against the soffit is prolly being forced into it, melting inside during the day and showing up as a wet spot on the ceiling or leaking along the window frames.

Yes, this is a record snow, but this problem has happened before. I used the flashing method in the previous area and it didn't leak this time.

I said ice melt IN the gutter - not on the roof! David is right - ice dams form above exterior walls from the heat loss - without a proper air gap above the insulation - including baffles installed so that the air space is maintained. When I build houses (no ice dam problems - no icicles), I spec my trusses with a 14" leg - this in addition to whatever the bottom and top cord of the truss add for height - to allow for a large air gap. Baffles installed, continuous soffit vent and a Boston ridge vent. Has worked very well. I have heat tape for the gutters and wired for electricity, but never bothered to install. The ice melt a couple times a year is enough. Mayber NEXT summer...
