Hi

If it is plastic, the scratches can be polished out

You need to know wht the windshield is made of before you select the polishing products

It is a slow process but usually well worth the effort

Good luck !

You talking boat or car?

If car, check your insurance. May need to crack it to get a low or no deductible replacement.

I just replace mine when they get to that point. Not sure if there is anything out there to fix it. If the windshield is cracked insurance will cover it.

it's surprising how little force it takes to crack a windshield. I was swatting a gnat that was messing with me, and my backhand slap spider'd the glass. Kind of embarrassing to have to say that to the insurance company, so when I got home a tap with a ballpeen hammer put the requisite crater into the outside of the glass.
New clear windshield, $100 deductible, life is good again.

It might sound crazy but I normally get a new windshield every 3 years. I'll be getting my next one in April. Its $224.00 installed. I drive eastbound on my way into work. Nothing worse than looking thru a pitted windshield with sunglare.

Depends on the state too, and the insurance company
some states they have to replace it, for free with no deductible,
it makes part of comp coverage, some other states you pay for the coverage separate.

Some insurance company's don't sell glass coverage without deductible, special in the North, where the people heat up the car in colder temperatures and it just cracks,
most Southern states its "free"...

All insurance companies will repair it for free, only a few will replace it for free...
