Default Direct TV question

OK where I live in the city the houses only need 2' between them. They are building a new house next door to mine and the new one is taller by a few feet.

My signal is now blocked, direct TV wants $50 per dish (2 dishes) to relocate the dishes.

I can more then likely alter the angel myself and see if it works for us. Short of that working do I have any action against the new home builder?

Nothing you can do about the new house unless you have an easement. (unlikely) You need to move your dishes or have DTV do it. It's not hard to DIY unless you're afraid of heights.

What's your zip code, some markets require two dishes for local channels. Most of these markets have been converted to one dish now. So then you would only need to move one dish.

If you receive HD channels and have the large oval dish you want directv to move it. Its much harder to aim then the older dishes.

Sats, call them to come out and fix it. It will be free. Best to do it after a windstorm. But they have come to my boat for nothing when I had moved the dis.

Don't want to be without TV until the next wind storm.

We have a 2 family house hence the 2 dishes. Unless we can connect both/all TV's to the one dish and save some money, how would that work? Mother in law down stairs us upstairs.

I can more then likly move the dish myself as long as enough cable is around for the connection.

I'll take a look tonight after work.

Thanks all.

I think you can get individual boxes and run them off one dish.

You could go to FCB and pm rednedk joe.
He is a direct tv supervisor or something and really know this stuff. I think he's on here too but I'm not sure of his handle

Is you contract up? Usually they are 2 years. I called them up after my contract expired and told them I was thinking about going with cable. They offered to send me new boxes and take $40 a month off my bill for 6 months if I stayed. They do not like to disconnect anyone.
