Late post:
Stayed three nights at Playa Flemco on Culebra.
Pretty slow island, but nice and quaint.
At the beach, there were Tarpon in the shallows by the rock jetty to the right and Jacks about 40 yards out all along the beach. Pelicans working the water all day.
Best Burger was at El DeY on the main road leading to the east side of the island.
Real dive-looking place, but great service and strong drinks.
Went to Mamacita's for dinner but it was a 2 hour wait for a table. Went over to (I think) Suzie's just across the canal.
Best breakfast, fresh cooked sandwiches and real good coffee was at the bakery on the corner of PR-250 & Cll Castelar, all the Gringos go there along with the locals.
Out to the east, past El Dey along PR-251 the road ends at a public beach.
At the southwest corner of the parking lot there is a 10' fence with the gate chained shut.
There is plenty of room to slip through and follow the 10 minute path.
Almost at the end, on the left, is a fantastic beach nestled in the trees.
Really good snorkeling there.
If you go the final 50 yards to the end of the path there is another beach, but it is on the rough water side of the island, no decent swimming.
Back on the mainland, stayed another 4 nights and found LOTS of really cool places.
The Garmin ran out of roads and all the signs are in Spanish.
Lots of fun at night, all tiny roads!
So this led to finding all the cool spots by accident.
If you are heading to PR and looking to play in the water or hit any of the out-islands, I can give ya info.

Down at the bottom of PR-195 is the ferry. They have cargo for you and your vehicle or the passenger ferry.
The ride is about 1.5 hrs.
For two ppl and a car we paid $31 round trip!!!!
The pax ferry is prolly cheaper.
If you go, check with the car rental company, they usually do not allow their vehicles to be taken off the mainland. I didn't discover this until we broke down on Culebra and were reading the contract, oops....
There is a rental on Culebra though, Carlos Jeeps.
