Dammit guys, this thread just cost me 200 bucks!!

I was looking for a YouTube video of a group called Horslips - a great Irish Folk-Rock group in the mold of Thin Lizzy, to introduce you guys to their music.

I found some YouTube then noticed that one of the comments underneath was that they has a couple of reunion dates going in Ireland!

You know what kids are like - they love the rock from our generation. And my son has previously stolen all my Horslip stuff to play it as loud as he could in the car and in his room.

Well he is now at college in Dublin and one of the gigs is at the O2 Center in Dublin December 5th. So I just Skyped him and made him aware of the concert! (yeah I know 3 in the am). Let's say he was persuasive! So 2 tickets - 121 Euro (180 bucks) and he gets to see Horslips - and I don't even get my CDs back!

Thanks, I think!

Some of their stuff if you are interested. It plays best cranked up!

That's a hard one. There are just so many great ones that would qualify & many are already listed here. I'll list a few of mine. Some or all may already be listed. If so I apologize. I don't have the time to go through all of these songs this morning but felt compelled to post. Must be that rock & roll in my soul that made me do it.

And who can forget this classic...

One more before I go...

I'm 52 and I cant say this is the all time best R&R song or band of all time but I can say this crazy Scotsman put on as good a concert as I have ever seen. They had a very unique way of fitting into mainstream rock and roll during it's greatest decade. The first clip is hard core rock and roll, plain and simple, the last clip is just plain special.

Yeah, I knew that about Artimus and was really surprised when I read it. Makes you wonder how a guy with that kind of money and fame would resort to going after under-age girls. It's not as though there wouldn't be a line of +18YO groupies ready, willing, and able.

You could add songs to this list forever. Personal favorites:

Freebird & Simple Man- Lynyrd Skynyrd Somewhere around here I still have a pair of tickets to the Baton Rouge concert that they never made it to. Been offered thousands for them. Guess I telling my age.
The Trees- Rush http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWHEcIbhDiw The lyrics to this one really hit home...especially in the PC / Affirmative Action climate today.
Sultans of Swing- Dire Straits
Amanda - Boston
Aime - Pure Prairie League http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4xp2lgiAjY
Do you Feel - Frampton
and WAY too many others to list.

As far as boating / fishing - How about Cool Change by Little River Band? One of my favorite boat / sea songs.

Check out the video!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bKwRW0l-Qk

Lots of great songs in that list....I always liked "Cool Change" but it had mostly faded from memory-thanks for the reminder that it needs to be in my "boat mix".
