What a coincidence - same age as ZZ Top in their hay day!

Just my opinion but to be the greatest rocknroll song of all time it seems like EVERYONE should know it, no offense guys but a lot of these ya'll are posting I ain't never heard of

Everyone know Freebird

And don't get me wrong I love that "little ole band from Texas" and LaGrange but still does not get the air time Freebird has or ever did

By the way I was watching that video clip and am I correct that Billy Powell died earlier this year, how many of the original band members are left

Gary Rossington, Artimus Pyle, and Ed King are still alive. Artimus wasn't the original drummer, but I don't remember his name.

Bob Burns was the original.

I remember going over to some friends' house and listening to "Pronounced" the very first time, on vinyl of course. Who knows how far they would have gone if not for that stupid damn plane crash. I'll never forget a buddy driving over to tell me about the crash as I didn't have a phone back then.

THOSE OF US that are old enough to remember, the last Skynyrd show was right up the road from where I live(20 miles) in the old Greenville Memorial Auditorium.

Actually have a couple of friends that were there that night for the show, one of them made the comment that when they did the encore it looked as though they were in a hurry to leave.

Amazing to me how popular their music still is with "younger people"

I am quite old enough to remember, 63. I remember Big Bopper, Buddy Holly and Richey Valens, and Rick Nelson's plane crashes,

There are so many. This is one of my Fav's. Nothing tops the guitar solo. Video is a more 'recent' performance.
I'm 39.

Artimus Pyle has been in a lot of trouble around here lately hate to say it and it may sound like blasphemy but he is a convicted child molester. I grew up around Allen Collins and still keep in touch with his stepsister and father in fact my oldest daughter was his nurse/caretaker after his car accident. Terrible waste of talent. I remember them when they use to practice in their garage. Amazing how they captured the crowd back in the day without any special props Ronnie just came out barefooted and blew everyone away.
