i hear you. sometimes it seems like the pinfish sticks cause more of a reaction than other times. i thought it was the dines for a while, but it was the pinfish. figured that out after talking to a commercial guy. my hands would turn beat red and swell by the next day. painful enough that cleaning fish was difficult. a week or so later all the skin on hand/fingers would peel in sheets.

try the bleach. you'll never have that problem again.

Seriously, the best way to deal with this issue is to protect your hands so you dont get stuck. Sanitizing them is fine but if you have been stuck, there is no guarantee that sanitizing the skin surface will help. I think periodic hand washing or hand sanitizer use is wise but dont get a false sense of security.

I keep a bottle of liquid hand soap on board, its easy enough to dip my hands OB to rinse.

I posted about 2 years ago a story of a Newbedford Ma. fisherman that cut his hand fishing and got flesh eating bacteria that ended up taking his life quick. After that I made sure I carry anteseptic on board and wear gloves when landing fish, any cuts or scratches get attended to first thing.

Hey Doc......the bleach solution thing after fishing 100 percent works. I have never seen anyone come back on our local forum and say otherwise.
