Holy cow. It reminds me of the Labor Day storm of 1935 that materialized off the Keys....

Looks like it's heading right at us. Going to leave the bayside doors open and the north doors open...maybe it'll just whip right on through!

Must've been 100 surfers in front of the condo at Perdido Pass today. Wind surfers, too...saw one guy get 20-30 feet high and get pulled a long way by the strong east winds..

Seas are 8x8, and I saw about an 18'CC with three guys playing in it~brave souls, fersure!

My grandparents were just starting high school in 1935.

Yeah, there's a painting of me hidden in the attic that looks like hell.

No, when I moved down there in '74, people were still talking about it. They probably still are. Apparently, it just materialized off the coast, but back then it would be hard to say...

Happy to see she's losing strength. I woke up this morning dreading the thought of having to go move my boat inland to my sister's house. Luckily it appears I won't have to do this now.

We're gonna get some storm surge... but it shouldn't be too bad for me.

All my best to all of you on the Gulf Coast

My Dad was 9 years old, my PawPaws and MawMaws never saw the inside of a high school.

Little difference reading or being told about a 1935 hurricane verses remembering.

Yeah, for sure. From what I "read" alot of people that were there didn't live to remember. Picture a storm that could tear up railroad tracks...
