Default Oasis of the Sea coming to Ft. Lauderdale in 6 days

Largest cruise ship so far.
Different then the rest.
One of the links even give it's location (GPS map) as it crosses the Atlantic.

But it's easier to fish out of the 240

We are thinking of a cruise with our two kids, er I mean adult children, when they graduate college in 2 years, maybe this one, we'll see.

Let us know how it was.

That video of that cruise ship almost flipping over is WILD! I would have hated to be a passenger on that bad boy. Shit would have been flying everywhere!

We were going into Luanda, Angola on a destroyer in some big swells. There is a long peninsula that sticks out to the northeast for miles. As we turned across the swells to round the point, we took back to back rolls, 50 degrees to port, and 52 to starboard. Just those two were enough to make you think you were going over. I can't imagine being caught in a beam sea without enough power to turn back into the wind like that cruise ship is, and taking those rolls.

I know a computer contractor who is on the ship as we speak. He works on the systems that use a PDA for the lifeboat manifests, as well as some other software. I can't wait for him to get back here to get all of the stories. I also read an article where they had only 2 feet of clearance between a lowered smokestack and a bridge they needed to clear to make it to open ocean.
