Default AAAahhhhhhh!!!

In-laws are in town. They have only been here a few hours this morning and my blood pressure is already up and have nearly bit my tongue off already.

I guess it is bloody mary's for breakfast this weekend and the rest of the day on the golf course.

My in-laws are fine (they never visit due to their age and health), it's my mom that spikes my BP. She can't get three sentences out of her mouth without the words "why don't you [fill in the blank]" I love her dearly but being constantly asked to explain what I did or didn't do gets old in a hurry. My wife and I came up with a strategy years ago to minimize the third degree......lie about everything.

My FIL passed 6 weeks ago and my MIL is currently hospitalized with complications with the final stages of pulminory fibrosis. So, even though they are a PITA sometimes, help your spouse enjoy them while you can.

Well if you didn't get married in the first place you would not have this problem.

Oh how I miss the Bliss of my Ex-Inlaws. . .. . Better You than me I recommend a couple Blody Mary per Morning, a couple Beers at lunch, Wine with Dinner, and a couple Scotches as a night cap, thats what worked for me

There is so much wisdom in this simple statement, and yet it applies to so many issues.

I can't stand any parents!!! neither hers or mines....!!!!
My mom lived with us for a couple of years and I end up shipping her back to my country....

Her mom: It's not only the MIL effect on the family but it's also the sudden and corrosive effect that it has in my wife!!!! she is somebody else when her mom is around.

I can take my MIL for ....
1 week: no problem
2 weeks: may be..
3 weeks: I do not think so
4 weeks: I need some heavy drugs
5 weeks: I'm ready to kill her...How long for murder 1??? I'll happily take it!!!!

But I have to admit that at this point I will take her mom over my dad any day of the week and 2 on sunday...

My DAD is coming shortly to visit for second time in 7 years... I do not know if I have recovered yet from last time.....LOL

I do not know if it's them that get old or it's me getting older...

PS: awesome thread!!!

My MIL was in town all last week. At one point she even said "I'm sorry I annoy you so much."

It took a lot of Captain & Coke and restraint but I survived.

She's nice enough, just dumb as a box of rocks and completely, 100%, useless. She's English and was trained by her mother that if she acts like she can't do anything people will do it for her. Drives me absolutely crazy.

You guys need to quit whining ..........

My MIL moved in back in June, FIL died 5 years ago.
She is 89 years old .
Has Dementia , BAD.
Thinks I'm the yard man and my wife is the night nurse.
She argues with my grand kids [ 2 and 3 years old ] over the toys and blankets .
If ya want to know what other PRIZES we find give me a call.
Thinks our cat and 2 year old grand daughter are out to kill her and the FBI is giving her a mission.

Lets party Dudes .

My in-laws live about 125mi. west of here! MIL, SIL (2), BIL, niece - ALL 125mi. aWAY!

Wife "advised" me about a month ago that she, MIL, SIL and niece are ALL going to Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving weekend - "female ONLY" trip!

Oh noooooooooooooooooooo - the sadness, the hurt I feel!

Well, I'll be taking my Mom out for Thanksgiving dinner and the REST of the weekend is MINE!

Now - where did I put my teal green leisure suit, x-wide belt, neck scarf, and them buckle-up, high-heel dancin' shoes?????????????

I DO know I'll be going to hear my FAVORITE local band (my gitar instructor plays "lead/rhythm") on the 27th!

Plus, I won't have to do any COOKING this year!

Regards,

Sounds like your going to have a great day on the golf couse, you might even break the course record.......the most drinks that is, your golf will still suck and you can now blame it on the in-laws.......Fore !!!!!!!
