I am member, simply for the reason that way too many politicians and sheriffs are anti-gun. The gun is not the problem, its lack of prosecution the illegal gun toting idiots.....

And the silence is deafening.

Why you think membership in the NRA is not needed is beyond anyone who believes in the 2nd amendment. I guess we need be glad that you don't post above the bilge often with your anti-second amendment crap.

I'll do it real slow for you, Menz, you're kind is not needed in the NRA; last I heard, only American Patriots who support a Conservative America belong to the NRA; you don't fit that criteria.

Oh, and when you find one single solitary post of mine that indicates I am anti-second amendment, I'll kiss your ass in whatever county square you designate. Life member of the NRA, fyi.

Lastly, you made some disparaging remarks about my military service in a thread in the Bilge, so come back down so we can continue that discussion, since it would not be appropriate to do so on this thread.

Also 1k insurance on your guns. I imagine that 1k for some people is not anywhere near enough but for me it was a nice little extra perk.

Wayne LaPierre, a vice president in the National Rifle Association, wrote an informative book titled Essential Second Amendment Guide. It surprised me to read, in Wayne's book, how the United Nations approached the Second Amendment in the 2006 conference.

I too, was a member for many years.
I was bombarded by mailings asking for money.

I saved them the expense of mailing them to me by not renewing.
I instead, go to their headquarters a few times a year and show ppl the museum.
It's beautiful, if you can, go see it.
I make a donation each time plus buy things in the store there.
I have an NRA coffee mug in front of me right now.

I figure this way, I can donate without all the damn junk mail from them.

FWIW I have been told you can opt out of the mailings.

Apparently, you can opt out of the general mailings, but there wasn't an option to opt out of the donation requests. This may have changed since I left.

Endowment member here, as is the GF. I get 0 mailings. She gets them. I opted out, she didn't. She probably will this month. Easy to opt out of the mailings and phone calls. Just call the NRA and tell them.

As far as Mensies, I don't care who you are, if you believe in the 2nd amendment I want you in the NRA. They may not be perfect but they are the "800 pound gorilla" in DC. Let's make them a 1000 pound gorilla.

Yes, the UN wants all nations to sign a treaty banning civilian ownership of small arms.

The 2nd ammendment is what ultimately keeps the government under control.

BTW, the more members they have, the more political clout they have. Not belonging to help them save money on mailing reduces their numbers and therefore clout.
