Two pics, one of my knee and the other my poor neglected toys.
Two weeks out of the hospital now and making slow progress. because nothing ever grew in the petri dish the real strain of bacteria and it's origin is still unknown. My best guess is that I was absentmindedly picking at some loose skin on my knee while driving. I get some bursa in that knee and it sluffs off skin from time to time. Anyway I think I had some barnacle juice or bottom paint or other noxious substance under a nail and it wound up sub dermal. Infection ensued (cellulites) that tried to go septic at Mach speed. In 50 hours I went from fine to in the hospital with a swollen red leg, scary low blood pressure, high fevers and uncontrollable shakes. Seven days on IV antibiotics got the pressure and fever under control but the swelling is making slow progress. There are still hot spots of infection but I'm on orals and it gets ever so slightly better every day. No real pain and I'm back at work. Picking and choosing jobs, not killing it two a day.

My father just went thru a situation like that. Disclaimer: Genitalia slang words about to come up. My father one day had a bump come up under his ball sack. He thought it was a "bump". Well within 36 hours he could not walk or use the rest room and he was in and out of consciousness with a huge fever. Well when he got to the hospital they went "holy shit!" They lanced the area to get all the "dead" and infected flesh out. Unfortuantly he lost a testicle with the operation because of all the infection. It turns out he had Necrotizing Fasciitis. Dont know what that is? Its the disease commonly called FLESH EAST DISEASE! They were worried about the Necrotizing Fasciitis spreading more than what it already did but fortunately it did not. My father ended up loosing a lot of his upper rear thigh all the way to his testicles. They had to leave the area "open" to heal from the inside out which was disgusting.
This happened about a year ago and he is just now getting back to where he can walk right and do regular things.
So to sum up I'm glad you got better quick baitkiller!
