Default H1N1 in The House

Damn. My daughter started a cough and feeling out of it on Sunday while we were driving from Asheville to Orlando. Monday she went to school but still had a cough but no fever. Monday night she had a 101 fever. Today my wife took her to the Dr. and by a nose swab test they confirmed H1N1. They prescribed Tamiflu and OTC for symptoms.

Hope my wife and I don't get it! Lots of hand washing around our house. The Dr. said she is very contagious too.

Thanks Tim. I hate hearing the stories about deaths. We caught it very early and got her to the Dr. ASAP. She's 16 but has a couple of issues that could lead to complications, so the Dr. is treating it aggressively.

My kids had it. Was no big deal fortunately for us. They only missed 2d of school and were never bedridden. I believe a lot of people have mild or even no symptoms.

Worked the boat show (Ft. Lauderdale) for 5 days talking and shaking hands with hundreds of people. I used a hand sanitizer advertised to kill 99.99% of over 100 bacteria and viruses including H2N1 probably twenty times a day.
Woke up at around midnight last night. That little pesty .01% found me. Sore throat and cough. Drove down to break the show down today and tow the boats back. Home now with small fever, killer cough, and sore throat. My wife made me home made chicken soup and mini grill cheese sandwiches. That alone is almost worth it.

I guess it's time for me to relax for a few days and not spread it.

After ~5 years of working 3-5 tradeshows a year only now can I occasionally go and not come home sick as a dog afterwards...

After 3 days of being pretty sick, tonight she seems to be doing a lot better. Still coughing but at least she is moving around the house. Glad we nipped it in the bud.

Good Luck, I hope she recovers quickly and no one else gets it. I just got my H1N1 shot yesterday, so we will see if it helps.
