I'm putting together an offer for a 23,000sf industrial for our business. The roof decking is a t&g 2x6 which has the underside painted. The paint contains lead and is flaking throughout. I've been quoted anywhere from $4 to $7. per square foot to blast the decking and repaint, all in accordance with approved guidelines. Anyone have any experience with this type of abatement that could provide any advice. I want it done right to protect me and my employees.

Off the top of my head the range seems high However alot of unknowns particular what kind of obstructions are on the area to be blasted and painted?? If its free and clear of obstructions then someone is making alot of money How about height to work area??? The biggest costs are the setup/prep and break down Did they give you a duration? Are they carrying a cost for any third party monitoring of the work?
