Default Invading giant snakes threaten U.S wilderness areas

Burmese pythons and other giant snakes imported as pets could endanger some of America's most important parks and wilderness areas if they are allowed to multiply, according to a report released on Tuesday.

Yep, we have them down here. People bring them in as pets then dump them. I figure they will allow hunters and trappers to go after them for a while then some organization will cry foul and want to protect them. Like the manatees!!

Yep, they'll try to protect them and then kill any other animals that might be predators to them. Just like they did in Cape Hatters. Killed the raccoons, foxes, feral cats and dogs, and any other animal that might harm a precious bird.

I watched a show on Discovery and they showed some of the large boas in the Everglades. Do you bass fishermen ever come across them in the Everglades?

Have no fear, the next ice age will wipe them out. That is why they are not native to NA.

Cozumel Is in Mexico is overrun with boa snakes that were brought in as movie props and let loose. The snakes multiplied and killed a lot of the natural wildlife. They can't control the boa snake population on the island.
