So I blow out my knee and continue to work because we were busy and they needed me. I drag my leg around for about 6 weeks until I just can't do it anymore, surgery is done a few weeks later, months of rehab and lots of pain. Return to work on light duty with serious restrictions and possibly more surgery to come. 30 days later to the day of my return they lay me off.
A little advice to everyone, if you get hurt on the job, after seeing your doctor go to see your attorney.

Reason: no
Truth is you may have hurt yourself by not reporting the accident right away, sad but true.
Good luck and let us know what happens
Buddy of mine tore his rotator cuff twice(he is a lineman) and was on light duty for over 18 months. He was worried shitless that when he went back ot full duty they would ax him but while he was on light duty they actually trained him in safety.
Long story short he is now a head safety director with the company and it worked out great for him, hope works out

Sorry to hear this - I just found out yesterday I need knee surgery after trying OT for the last 3 months.....fortunately I am retired, but have to work a few days a week to keep me sane and to fill in the $$ gap
Hopefully you can get a job in a related position in the profession - maybe sales or customer service or teaching it or something - just curious - what was your job?
Take care - hope all works out well for you....

Reason: spelling
Actually the injury was reported the same day, not an issue. I just tried to keep working through it, doctor was involved the day after the injury occurred.

Just my opinion but that is great on your part and you have CYA, good luck

Your knee can't get rehabbed back to 100%? I would imagine with the proper surgical procdure and follow-on therapy and conditioning you could be better than you were before.

I thought so too, but I guess when you start removing things it'll never be 100%, I have substantial damage to the articular cartilage that can't be repaired and of course the meniscus was badly torn. A LOT of cartilage was removed, bone on bone . I've already been told that the next step is probably Knee replacement.

I am no expert but having been in physical therapy with 2 separate knee and back issues with mostly post operative patients - the unfortunate truth seems to be you very seldom can get back to 100%.

They are lacking in the representation end, no doubt there. The good points are the benefit package and the training, I worked for several years in an open shop until we were bought out by one of the major players , the industry in this area is almost exclusively union.
