Default IE 8 and 7 problems

I started using ie again after firefox started acting up a few months ago. Now my ie is acting up. I was using 8, but found I could not bring up the right click menus on the screen, and often when I would hit the back button nothing would happen. So I went back to ie 7 to see if it was any better and I still have the same probs. Can't right click and have to hit "back" a bunch of times sometimes for anything to happen. Anybody know anything about these issues?

A few things to look at:

1) Check thoroughly for spy/mal/adware.

2) Some pop-up blockers can cause this. If you have recently installed/activated any, try uninstalling them.

3) Possible corrupt profile - try or create another (needs admin authority).

4) go into regedit
Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\Restrictions

If there is a Key called NoBrowserContextMenu, double click it and change the value to 0.

Firefox does not "act up". It is a very stable product. There are some occasional quirks but nothing that would prevent someone from using it.

As Kone mentioned, maybe look at other sources as the cause of your browser problems.

Firefox had a bad update a few months back. Read about it. I did and moved on. Now I'm back.

It's perfect code, written by the gods.

I cannot address your issue specifically since I am not at your computer but most Internet Explorer problems stem from the "Add-ons". I suggest using Tools and disabling all the add-ons to see if your problem goes away. Then add them back one at a time so see which one is the offending add-on. Many times, it can be more than one add-on since they do not work well together. Good luck, Explorer problems can be frustrating.
