Default Hawks Cay Dockage

I am looking to acquire a villa at Hawks Cay. However, I am somewhat concerned about the cost of dockage. Does anyone have any alternatives close to Hawks Cay for dockage? Any information would be appreciated.

Yeah, I knew that was coming.

I'm not a wealthy guy, just an every day joe. I have a 26' openfisherman and from what I've seen its like $70/day to dock it. Maybe more.

Its not that i can't afford it but to me that would be prohibitive.

BTW, since your wondering about my finances, the villa is not that expensive and I'm buying with two other people more for an investment then anything else.

I think the villas are a great buy right now. $70 a day does seem very expensive for a 26' boat.
What about the marina on Duck Key? I can't remember the name but it has dry storage and looks like it is a safe place to keep your boat.

what fun would it be to have a place on the water if you cant have your boat behind it? They dont offer a special rate for owning a place? They do have a ramp you can use when youre there if you leave it on a trailer?

I may have been incorrect in my original assessment. I have been told Duck Key marina is $40/night but only $300/month. If that is verified then no problem but the HC marina website quotes $2.70/ft = taxes. I'll post the number once its confirmed.

The last time I was at Hawk's Cay marina the cost was greater than $2.70 per foot. Plus, there was a resort charge of around $20/per night and tax. The total cost was well over $100 a night for a 30 foot boat and no long term discounts were available even for monthly useage. If the current rate is $2.70per foot then must have reduced their rates to become more competitive. I imagine the annual charter boats get some sort of discount but I can't be sure.

There is a marina just south of Duck Key on Grassy Key. I think that they are hurting for business.
