Default Honda brings back the 2010 CB750

Owned 3 of these in '72-76 - nice to see it back...the big gauges are the exact same as the orginal "750Four"

That's nice, in my younger days
I had a 1986 Honda CB450S, seen here:

http://www.motorparts.nl/index.php?m...h=79_86_92_156
http://www.the-blueprints.com/bluepr...a_cb450s_1987/
I had same color scheme, the stickers on the tank were very nice...

Always loved the CB models, even the CB900.

That is a great looking bike. I had a 1975 CB750F.

Don't like ninja-style sport bikes and have zero use for Harley's

My first bike was 75' cb750 couple years later I bought a 84' V65 Sabre. That thing was ignorantly fast in a straight line! What a blast, too tall to be a really good handling bike though.

I purchased a new '78 750 Four. It was all black. Awesome bike!

A co-worked of mine liked it so much that he bought a later model 750, which was a different style (and a DOHC). He didn't like his as well as mine!

I paid $1,750 plus tax for it, put 10K on the odometer and sold it in '84 for $1,500. As is usual for my stuff, it was always garaged and in mint condition

I wish all my boats held their value like that!

Mach 1 2stroker I had the 750 and that was just as bad. You had to be in the power band when going into a corner not the other way around. These bikes with mod. were very fast in a straight line loved the 2strocker with expansion pipes

A friend in high school (circa 1974) spent the better part of 6 months in the hospital recovering from a crash on his 750 Kaw. Broke both hips, spine multiple compound fractures of his right leg and facial scars that to this day look like something Stephen King would write into one of his books.
I rode it one time and it scared the living crap right out of me. When that thing came "on the pipe" you'd best have it pointed straight and be hanging on for dear life. Wicked, evil, nasty and fast as a turpentined cat is the best way to describe it.

NICE! IO had a '76 CB750F that I bought from the Service Manager of a Honda dealer here in MD. Motor was bored out to 836 cc w/ Manley titanium valves, 2 extra discs to the clutch, Harmon D-grind (drag racing) cam, Kerker 4-1 exhaust, oil cooler, and a WICKED candy apple paint scheme that received many compliments. I put it up for sale and made the mistake of letting someone ride it. He made it about a block and crashed! Broke his back and arm.

For a lead-sled, she was wicked fast!!

I'll see if I can dig up a pic.

My older brother had that exact bike. Same color. As a matter of fact, in this month's Motorcyclist magazine there's a short article about a restore of one of those. The engine blew in my Brother's bike. Supposedly the middle cylinder did not get adequate cooling. Just the same, those old Kaw 2 strokes were supposed to be rocket ships. Before my time.

I like the new CB750. A single shock would've been nice though (yes, I know dual shocks add to the retro look). IMO, 750 is the nice size for an in-line 4. I ride a 600 (Yamaha YZF) and the power is nice, but just a little more power would be nice too. On the other hand, 1000cc is just too much. And yes, there is such a thing as too much power.

Ahhh... the RD. What a bike!
I owned 2 RD 250's, 1974 RD350, and a 400.
The '74 RD350 was my favorite for sure.
A friend had the Kaw Mach2. Talk a bout a death machine!!

Anyhow, not to derail the Honda thread, it looks like Honda is taking a marketing tip from Triumph since the new Bonnie was released. I know the local Triumph dealer and they are getting msrp for these things and are moving quite a bit. looks like the baby-boomers are looking for that link to the past?

The newer Triumph Bonnies are nice bikes. Classic look of the old Bonnvilles, but very reliable. My sister-in-law has one. She bought it new in '01. She has 45,000 miles on it now and the only thing that ever went wrong on it was a burned out headlight.

If I could swing a new bike right now, it would probably be a Triumph. The Street triple R. Although the KTM Superduke would be a consideration.
