The Hostar is used being bought from a friend of mine on Cape Cod. He actually build all of his own trailers, at one point needed one failry quick so he ordered the Hostar to his specs, then never really used it. So its 10 years old, hardly any miles on it, and in great shape. I definitely don't have the loot to buy a brand new one!! If I have Q's on how to use it I'll be sure to keep you in mind so thank you for the offer!

I ended up getting a 2009 F350 crew cab long bed with the V10. I am in love with it. Every day I drive it I like it more and more. Got lots of accessories in the mail to get it the way I want too. As far as a daily driver - its perfect, way better than my Sierra 1500. Now I can look down girls shirts in traffic next to me

I saw you this morning, Jim. Nice truck. You should take it over to Shore Sign and have Ashley do a nice BOE Marine vehicle wrap!!

I will get it lettered somewhat but not a full wrap like before. Probably just something near the back. I have some nice running boards coming and will get the windows tinted Thursday so it won't look quite as much like a work truck like it does now.

Mind sharing what kind of deal you could get on the leftover '09? I'm shopping for 1/2 tons and there doesn't seem to be much difference in the prices on the remaining '09s or if I order a '10. Weird.

I got a shade under 10K off. MSRP was $39 something and I got it at 30K. That was good enough for me. The V10 moves me along just fine. Its a lot of truck for 30K, and I'm adding about $1500 of other stuff to make it perfect for my needs. I'm like that kid from Peanuts that always has the dust cloud around him, so I wanted something simple that will handle my mess and pull some boats

The 5.4 plug problem (and there was one) was taken care of with the additional threads in the revised heads that went into production in July 2002. That's about 7 years ago........

FWIW, my 1999 5.4 with 195,000 miles has yet to have a plug issue. If you had a mechanic who did not understand aluminum threads and pretended the spark plugs were lug nuts, you had a problem.

Wow $39k is a pretty low sticker, is it 4X4? XLT or XL.

4X4 XL with the power group (windows, locks, mirrors). Has the split front seat, cd, long bed, automatic Torqshift, 18" wheels. And so far on my little Island she's averaging 8.5 MPG I'm glad I'm not going anywhere in it

If you are looking for great gas mileage, or a hot rod with go-cart handling to take down to the quarter mile track look elsewhere. IMO the F250/350's with 5.4 are solid performers for hauling heavy loads, which is what it is designed to be.

Jim, those V10's have a sweet spot for the MPG , your mission , is to find it .

That is on the HWY by the way . Around town who cares, right.

Congrats on the new ride .
