Because, like me, I suspect no one was watching that thread any more. A new thread about this year's race in the forum proper would be read and get more to join.

BTW, it doesn't look like the same functionality is there - you cannot see a rank by friends list!

I'm a thinking we are all going to buy at least the pro sails. I'm going to wait until the end of this leg ans see if they get a sponsor. If not, then I'll have to the do it - the choice of just Jib and Spinnaker is driving me crazy!

They will start you in the middle of the fleet so given where we are you won't do too badly.

Add everyone as a friend then their location will show up in green on the map.

on the lower right part of the screen you'll see a magnifying glass, click on it to Find a person. Enter Hooter Scooter or Menzies or Capn Gadget, etc. You'll see their boat and position.

Below that you'll see the bar with their friends; click on that and then start adding those people as friends. Good luck with the race, you'll do just fine.

Default How do you get crew? Is that a cost option like sails and autopilot?

If I had a crew? They would probably be better sailors and over the side I would go> Thats a mutiny isnt it? NO crew for me!

A good example of how those other sails that you buy will help the boat.

Look at Capn Gadget and tchiopals they are in the same place with the same wind from the same angle. Capn with his sails is at 7.3 while tchiopals with "normal" sails is at 5.

Major difference!

My wind angle is 83 his is 76 the speed difference is 1.4 knots.

If I set the same wind angle the delta is 1.2 knots in the same wind and angle.

These boats are pigs compared to the VOR boats.

at the time one of you was at 83 and the other at 82 so the difference was huge. OTOH, he's not one of the chosen few THTers...so poke a hole in his hull!!
