Default Oregon player slugs Boise State player after game

Wonder if this will cost him his senior seasaon, other player was talking trash and he really got what he deserved but there are some things you just can not do and this was one of them

How do you know he was talking trash?
If so, from what i saw there is trash talking after every play. He didn't deserve to be sucker puched by a POS who by reports already was a discipline problem. I can identify with the player who threw the punch. He wanted his team to win the game and they didn't. However, instead of being gracious in defeat, despite some of the other team not being humble in victory, he would throw a punch like a punk. He could not display the self control that seperates us from animals.

Sucker punching somebody...

Going to the opposing sideline instead of walking away...

Wearing a helmet for in case somebody fights back....

Responding to (any) on-the-field words with a cowardly action....

There goes any chances of a pro career, much less his senior year.

From the ESPN article: "As the Broncos began celebrating on their famous blue turf, Hout yelled in Blount's face and tapped him on the shoulder pad. That drew an immediate scream from Boise State head coach Chris Petersen, but before Petersen could pull Hout away, Blount landed a right hand to the defensive end's jaw."

Just saw a thing on espn about it. They had to hold him back to keep him away from taunting fans as they were headed to the locker room. Guy must have a pretty bad anger management problem. He was apologizing profusely at the end of the segment though.

Guy from Boise was baiting him for sure - watch it again and notice the Boise coach trying to stop the guy from running his mouth just before the punch. Still... gotta keep your composure. The punch was one thing, and maybe semi-understandable, hey, the guy snapped. The kicking and screaming all the way into the locker room? waaaay over the top.

Not saying he should have hit the guy... but... There is also a thing called a sore winner. That guy from Boise was being an A+ aHole and probably got what was coming. He not only was yelling in the guys face, he did put his hands on him too. It certainly wasn't malicious, but keep your space when your being an Ahole or this will happen...

There is nothing worse in my mind than i player who wins a tough well played game , and then still feels the need to rub it in someones face. I coach a lot and a big lesson we teach the kids is not only how to learn from defeat, but how to be a gracious winner too.

Also, I saw the ESPN segment. This RB will sit a few games for sure just for nailing the guy. (nice punch BTW, Knocked his arse out.) But had he clocked the kid and just walked away. He would be in way less trouble.

I also hope the Boise Kid will loose a few games by creating the whole problem in the first place.

Am I the only one who could barely see Boise St on that blue field? It was too much effort for me to watch.

At least that was something a little more exciting to watch than my Wolfpack in a stinker with Spurrier's team before that game.

He is done for the year except he gets to continue to practice with the team and keeps his scholarship. http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/1...rest-of-season

That's pretty harsh. A 22 year old, hoping for maybe a look at the NFL, and one punch could end his future?

Good sportsmanship would be for Boise to leave it until a third way into the season, then reach out and request that the ban be lifted after a few games.

Not sure if he has used his redshirt yet, but if he hasn't, he could use it this year.

Respectfully, I disagree. Oregon does not owe this kid a look at the NFL. Essentially he entered into a contractual relationship with the school when he signed his scholarship. He not only embarrassed himself, but his team, and the school. Also, form what I have read, this is not his first rodeo with anger management issues.

Call me crazy, but based on the way he acted, I think a urine test is in order, if you know what I mean.

Besides, suspension or no suspension, that punch would have cost him a trip to at least round 6 or greater.

He needs to be held accountable for his own actions and accept personal repsponsability. If he were my player, I too would have tossed him for the season, and no, I would not let him practice with the team either. When a team has a cancer, you need to cut it out.

He should have thought about his NFL prospects BEFORE throwing the punch.

I would have loved to see him pull that against Southern Miss or LSU. The fans would have beaten the sh!t out him with liquor bottles.

Really? Deserved to get sucker punched?

"(nice punch BTW, Knocked his arse out.)"

I could not disagree more, on so many levels.

He is a punk, period. He'll fit right in in the NFL.
