Yes, its extremely fun but also sometiems really stressful ( when fishing tournaments) im still young so hopefully it wont be as stressful when i get older
some days...are like this...
6am wake up
630-715am get boat ready to leave prepare all bait, fuel tackle, etc
730am boat leaves for fishing.
330pm returne to dock from fishing.
Whats the difference between a 100k boat & a 5k boat fishing right next to eaxh other? 95k...
I don't get all happy pants about those who figured out how to pay $$$ for their toy. I get all happy pants seeing the guy next to em in a POS having the same amount of fun. Charters & pros aside...
My 27'er costs less than the taxes on most boats & is on the water 9 months a year & avg 150-200 hours of running time... and I can afford a 100k toy.
If you are really really in to boating fishing I would think you can spend that kind of money.....depending on other expenditures....combined income of 250 or so ...it wouldn't be considered too unwise financially.
Personally I downsized from my 90G rig to a 10 rig and like it just as much.

My thoughts are that there are guys that worked hard, own a business/businesses and earned all the money, or, graduated from college and got a great high-paying job somewhere doing something.
Then there are guys who inherited a lot of money, and maybe still work hard, but who will never come on THT and ever admit/share that, and then there are the rest who fall anywhere in between.
And $100,000 boat?, pah!, to some/many on the water, that amount pays for the tender. The big-dogs who cross-shop helicopters and exotic cars and send others out to purchase these small/perhaps trivial items as they can't be bothered and don't need to waste the very limited, God-given time dealing with such matters or even reading THT for that matter.
I am a project manager for a too big to fail type corp. And I can't afford a $100k boat. Too much of our money goes to saving for college for the kids and spent on groceries, etc.
I was able to pay cash for my 97 Wellcraft fisherman in '98. The prices of boats seems to have risen dramatically since then. For what I paid $19.5 then you can't get the same boat now for $32k. So I just take care of what I got....and occasionally buy a lottery ticket.
