HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.
George Phillips, an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.
He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"
He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.
Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."
George said, "Okay."
He hung up the phone and counted to 30. Then he phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." and he hung up.
Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

That's great...I had a similar experience in my NYC store.
I had a group of teens making trouble and shoplifting from me. I called the cops and they told me that someone would be there. After ten minutes no one came by, I called 911 and said "I'm getting "robbed" at 250... Broadway..." and hung up. In less than two minutes, I had 5 patrol cars in front of my place and two beat cops came out of the subway half block down. When they saw that it wasn't a hold up, but a buncha guys shoplifting, they tried to give me hell, but I just told em I was being robbed and that's all I said to the 911 operator. They left shaking their heads with the shoplifter in the backseat. I never heard what happen to the shoplifters so I assume the cops let em go somewhere with a warning like they usually do.

we had a problem when I was in college with kids stealing car stereos. Well one night I got hit saw the little basterds running from my car withe radio after breaking the window. I yelled to my roomate to call the cops and then grab a club. I gave chase to the track stars who had at least a block led on me yelling I'am going to kill you at the top of my lungs as I go by houses the lights go on. Well three blocks later they throw all 5 stereos mine also and 7 cruisers were bering down on the block. Ithrew threw the club in the weeds as the cars pulled me over they asked were is the guy that was yelling that he was going to kill some one I said two blocks up. I was told that I could pic up my stereo at the station in the am. Went down to the station in the morning and the detectives gave me back my radio and said good work to get that kind of attention. I said thanks and there was no problems after that.
I guess you have to trick the police into doing something that isn't going to make the system any money. 2 nights ago I had $2000 worth of tires stolen off 2 lowboy trailers. The police wouldn't even come out to file the report. My guess is they were to busy setting up a speed check.
