Ditto PSW on the Fein vacuum (HEPA), Multimaster and 6" random orbit sander - they
get used every spring on my boat.

Question - has/is anyone used Festool stuff and how do you like it? Also surprised not to see it mentioned here.

I have used a Festool Panel Saw. Very nice! And VERY expensive. If all I built were cabinets, in a shop, I would definetely buy them.

See I think the world would be great if all corners that require trimming out were 90's and 45's, but they're not. Having detent stops at given degree settings is great, but what does one do if the corner isn't a true 90 or 45? Does your compound miter saw have micro adjustability? I know my 12" sliding Hitachi does.

What did you like about it? I have been considering getting one for general work around the house as my shop is in the basement and I don't see bringing a 600 lb table saw down there and I have no other area. People say the panel saw can replace a table saw, even for small rips. Did you find that to be the case?

I don't know about "replacing a table saw" for small rips. You would not be able to easily rip a 2-1/2" piece of wood to 1" with the Festool. But the Festool is not a "general work around the house" tool, either. It is a very specialized tool that is awesome for cutting cabinet panels, and cuts perfectly true. The motor and handling of the saw itself are just silky smooth, it's unreal.
The saw and guide are $500 +, depending on where you buy. Is it a replacement for the table saw? No. But it is the perfect addition to your tool arsenal!
Additionally, it is strictly for those who appreciate and know how to care for a tool of this quality.
