Random Quote: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you get rid of him on the weekend.
Just curious. I have had the stomach flu the last couple of days and was wondering about what everyone did for a living in order to enjoy the expensive recreation of boating...
I work as an account manager for a printing company in the Balt/DC/Annap area. I have done if for almost 7 years now. The company I work for started out as business forms company but most of our work is now commercial printing (brochures, booklets, Books, etc.) and direct mail packages (a lot of fund raising packages for national associations out of DC). We do everything from short run jobs on digital and sheetfed presses to long run jobs on full web presses. We also do a lot of labels and membercard items. Most of our clients are associations, ad agencies, and manufacturing co's. I enjoy my job most of the time being that very challenging and there is a lot of interaction with my customers.
I'm a Counselor at law. I don't like to say Lawyer, it offends people. My night job is DAD. We all know that is a tough but most rewarding job in the world.
Landscape contrator for new single family homes in the Tampa area. About seven hundred a year. A lot of people moving down, and a lot more boats than 35 years ago. But the water quality is great and plenty of room in the bay and gulf. 85 degress with 10mph wind, going from my dock on the Alafia river out to the bay for a few hours . Hope the Lighting have a chance to play the Flyers in the playoffs. Thanks Dave
I do nothing! (honestly) This retirement thing is getting old. I relocated last year from Wantagh, New York. Retire in 2000 from NYC Transit Authority where I was an electrical supervisor. I ran the test and troubleshooting crews on high voltage substations and control systems. 33,00volts and up to 2,000kw stations. OUCH!
May have a job lined up with Walmart as a greeter!
For the next two months, I will be a techinical director (performing arts) for an arts and cultural council in KY. In August I will be a professor of theatre technology at USF in Tampa. The current job and location are "boating" prohibitive. The new job and location are much more favorable to boating.

I'm a pharmacist and the manager of the pharmacy department, rehab department, and neurodiagnostic department at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC. We're a medium sized hospital in the eastern part of the state. My wife is a manager for Branch Bank and Trust here in Wilson. We have a 4 year old (almost 5 now) son, who could not care any less about fishing (hopefully that will change).

General Manager for an industrial services company providing industrial cleaning and janitorial services, temporary labor staffing, and armed and unarmed security guards. On a given day I don't know whether I will be meeting with a major client involving hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of work, or if I will be running a pressure washer. Our company is on the cusp of being large enough for my position to be more executive in nature, but for now, when I run out of assistants, I have 4, I have to jump in and help also, but at least I get to pick the best pressure washer!
If any of you have a BMW Z4, one of my upcoming projects is to clean the paint facility that paints the rollbar cover, and various other plastic parts that go into and on the Z4.
Hey spring. My son is 3 going on 4 and I take him fishing all the time. He loves it. Then again I am on the bay so most of my fishing is only for a few hours or so after work... (I guess it would be a different story for an all day offshore trip)
Lt. FDNY. Soon to be retired. Buying a new boat to help pass away the time.
Not bad retiring at 50, except my body has been pretty beat up after fighting fires in NYC for 18+ yrs.
Now it's time to beat up on some Stripers.
