I just ordered a 2010 Camaro and I have the dealer spec sheet on .pdf
I just ordered a 2010 Camaro SS/RS, won't get it until July.
I talked the dealer into e-mailing me the dealer copy of the brochure/spec sheet that has all of the options and everything listed for the new Camaro's. If anyone would like a copy please e-mail me @ russturbo@aol.com and I will e-mail you the .pdf file.
It's 16 color pages so it takes a little bit of time to download and open.
Re: I just ordered a 2010 Camaro and I have the dealer spec sheet on .pdf
Was kind of thinking about a new camaro for the wife in a year or 3. What's the price range on these things? Thinking more along the lines of a v-6 model for her.
At one time I was really into cars and owned a 67 camaro coupe, a 68 camaro convertible and a 69 Vette roadster. The 68 was my favorite car of all time. The car just had beautiful lines, was pretty much trouble free and was generally just fun to drive. Didn't hurt that it was bright red with a white top and white bumble-bee stripe on the nose. The 68 and the vette paid my tuition for 5 years of college. Had sold the 67 years before. Sacrificed for a good cause I guess LOL. Traded my plastic car for plastic boats. Been driving a P/U for 20+ years now. Guess that means I'm a red neck huh?
Congrats on the new ride. Damn good looking machine from pics I've seen.
Re: I just ordered a 2010 Camaro and I have the dealer spec sheet on .pdf
The V6 with an average amount of options would be in the mid $20's. My SS/RS loaded out with just about everything listed out at a little over $38k. That is a lot of car for the money.
Note that there are no rebates, no GM loyalty, and no discounts. The price is the price.

Thanks Russ. Wow they ARE proud of it aren't they? Will probably wait a few years, we are looking to buy a 2nd home here in the next few months so cash is tight. Maybe after they've been around for a while, the dealer will be willing to "deal".

You might want to hold off on buy that house. Just heard that banks are sitting on a lot of foreclosed home they are not listing; e.g. there are more home available than you can find listed. AND...banks are getting geared up for a whole new round of foreclosing to start this spring. When that happens you may be able to pick up homes being sold 'short'. Banks are starting to allow a homeowner about to be foreclosed on to sell his house for less than the loan amount due, the bank takes a loss to keep from having to foreclose.

Yep, that's kind of what we're waiting for. Don't think it's going to be a seller's market any time soon. Hoping interest rates will go down a little more too. Also, since it will be a second home, I have to have LARGE cash downpayment. Some of that cash is tied up in CD's that won't mature till end of April. So, we're waiting. And watching. If you check national listings (like I have) where I live (LA), foreclosures are still pretty rare. Add that to the fact that we are looking for a home on 2-10 acres with 2500-3400 SF in a very small area of town and it severly limits our choices and I doubt that we'll actually find anything on fire sale, but all that action should drop appraised values on all homes even more. Who knows, might even luck out. FL and CA seem to be the foreclosure capitals of the nation right now.

Hey Joe- don't pi$$ in my corn flakes...I know that I could have saved money by waiting but this is the first time in my 46 years of life that I have ever ordered a car. The new Camaro is a dream car for me, it's my money so keep your negative comments to yourself thank you.

Joe - 1/31/2009 8:12 PM heh..I saw a Hemi challenger on the used side of a dodge dealer today. You could have waited a year and goten a loaded Z/28 for half price.
Lets not stop there lets wait 2 years and get it even cheaper. Or lets wait 10 years and get it for almost nothing. But don't wait 25 years because the price starts going up.

It wasn't really a negative comment Russ. I hope you enjoy your new car.

I never thought that 6 months(?) after the Hemi Challenger came out ( the ltd prod model), there would be one on my local dodge delares used car lot. It wasn't meant as a dig, just that until things settle down a bit..
oh whatever. I hope Russ enjoys his new car. It is nice looking.

Banks have been doing this for quite a whilenow they are by no means just starting with short sales......
Re: I just ordered a 2010 Camaro and I have the dealer spec sheet on .pdf
Joe- the used car you seen could have been a dealer demo car. I have a friend of mine that went to a Dodge dealer to look at a Challenger and the dealer had several new ones on the lot. Even though they had lots of inventory the sticker price was the price, no discounts.
There is no Z28 option on the new Camaro's. With the SS you get the V8, option package 2SS gives you lots of other bells and whistles, the RS package gets you a spoiler, RS badges, & 20" wheels.
I'm hoping that with the continued drop in car sales there will be some discounts or rebates offered by the time my Camaro comes in. The good thing about ordering one is that I won't be subject to any increases between now and the time the car is delivered, however, I am eligible for any and all discounts and/or rebates.
I called around to other area Chevy dealers before I ordered mine and one local dealer would not allow you to order a Camaro without a $4,000 deposit! None of the dealers I talked to would allow you to order one without at least a $1,000 deposit. I have purchased a lot of cars from the dealer I ordered the Camaro from and they only asked me for a $250 deposit.
Two other dealers said they aren't accepting orders until their allotment of vehicles coming from Chevy are sold. One salesman explained to me that when the Camaro's come in they will all be put into the showroom and any interested buyers will have to make a written offer. After 5 days whoever has the highest offers will be able to purchase the car. They are expecting some of these cars could sell for 25% or more ABOVE the sticker price!!! Now THAT is crazy.
One thing every dealer told me is that GM is not offering discounts off of the sticker price. None of them said the dealership was not discounting the cars. How can GM dictate to a dealer what they sell a car for? Perhaps the dealerships are only getting a flat rate discount, like 10% off of sticker or something like that?
If anyone else is interested in buying one feel free to PM as I have become a halfa$$ed expert on the Camaro.
