Default Laser Rifle Scope

Im trying to find a scope for a high power rifle that has a laser attached to it. When I look through the scope I want to see the target with a laser dot painted on it. Im not looking for a red dot scope, but a scope that I can still shoot at 500 yards in good light and have the choice of a dot in low light conditions. Do they make such a beast??

You can see a red dot on a target 500 yards away - even with a scope?

If for hunting, check your local regs. Any type of projected visible light is a no-no in a lot of places. Be interested to see what you find out.

+1

Also, the ones that I have looked at did not perform well in bright daylight beyond pistol ranges.

You can find illuminated reticles in alot of high end and low end scopes If you spend the money on a top end scope like Schmidt & Bender you will have a clear sight picture in the dark of night Same with some others But every one is going to cost 800$ or more with most alot more
Here is a place to start your search
http://www.swfa.com/c-2183-riflescopes.aspx
You can find more info on the various hunting forums as well as some of the sniper forums I would suggest that you learn the terminology of optics for a better understanding of what your spending your money on
Lastly if you do go with a illuminated reticle I would suggest you get it in green over red as well as making in a mildot reticle The site I posted has a tuturial on the mildot if you unfamilar with that

Ubettcha 13 thanks for your input and a starting spot, I think I found what I was looking for. Between hulls you and I know that hunting deer with a laser sight is a NO NO.

You need to check out the Meopta Meostar with the iluminated red dot reticle.

You can turn it off in good light situations or turn it on in low light situations when you can't actually see the
recticles very clearly.

I have a Meopta scope and so do plenty of my friends, they are hands down the best optic for the money.
They will easily compete side by side with Swaro, Leupold, Ziess, ect. I've compared them all and I will
continue to purchase Meopta's as long as they are available.

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

Here is a link to some.
