Random Quote: My biggest worry is that when I'm dead, my wife will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.
I am getting a little pissed off at the management here. When I signed up as a PAID sponsor I told you that my business needed to be explained. I told you and showed you that all of the other sites I am a paid sponsor on I had one single thread going in the Classifieds section show any special that I was running and the stats of boats sold from month to month. You orginally told me that was fine and a good idea. Then 6 months later you change your mind. That would be fine if you didn't let dozens of NON paid commercial posts go and just remove mine. I have told the mods here multiple times. No response of course.
Now Yesterday a customer of mine puts a thread up here in the BOATING FORUM saying something like "Anglers Edge. What a great deal" I look for it this morning and it has yet again been moved!!!! Meanwhile there is a big thread saying West Marine Sale" right next to where mine was. You want to explain to me what the F the difference is there?
I had been running a little test on the classifieds. I would see 4 non paid commercial posts on the first page and then put my thread back up. Then check back and my thread would be removed yet all of the other NON paid commercial threads are still there. Thats just lovely. Do I need to stop paying to be a sponsor in order to be treated as well as the NON paid guys?

What did they say when you called them?
"I can assure you that there is no favoritism happening here. Everyone is held to the same rules of the site. I appreciate you abiding by them."
Thats what they told me. I really don't care about the non paid guys posting commercial. If they get away with it fine. I am just pissed that they yank anything that has to do with me and let them slide. You see the thread here saying "West Marine Sale" What is the difference between that thread and the one the guy put up saying "Anglers Edge Marine, What a great deal"
Just really feel like I am not being treated as well as even the non paid guys. Seems pretty unfair when I shell out the $$ every month and they dont ya know?
I pointed out specific commercial threads in the Classified by guys that are not paid just to make a point. That was at least a month ago and those same threads are still there! Yet if I put one up it is gone quickly and the non paid threads are left alone. Just fed up and hoping a Mod herewould maybe reply to one of my PMs. Still have yet to hear from any of them. Would like an explaination.
RE: NOTE TO INTERNET BRANDS AND THE MODS HERE ON THT
Sadly, if you are looking for non-biased, fair moderation, you have come to the wrong place. Under Wiley's ownership, you could pretty much count on being treated fairly--from the non-CC members, to the multi-wheel holders, to the sponsors alike. Now under IB's tutelage, threads are moved from one forum to the other, and often back to the original forum it was started under(take the thread about BOE Marine in the Sportfishing Forum as an example).
I saw the thread about West Marine, and figured it would be deleted promptly as it is spamming. There are so many other threads that promote a product or service from non-paying businesses that you can't keep up with them....
I still post and browse here more than any other forum....I guess it's an addiction. But that is mainly because through all the BS, there is good information to be gleaned, and I feel that my knowledge may also be of use to someone else.
I do feel that IB owes the OP an explanation here. However, I don't believe one will be forthcoming, and look for this thread to suddenly disappear.
Re: NOTE TO INTERNET BRANDS AND THE MODS HERE ON THT
have a Happy Thanksgiving Bob!. I have an idea. Just have Yandina make a post about that is completely untrue and then there will be 5 pages flaming him and keeping you in the highlight.
Seriously, you offer a great service and I received steady interest from my ad that I placed with you. That yoiu then placed all over the internet.
RE: NOTE TO INTERNET BRANDS AND THE MODS HERE ON THT
I listed my Mako 233 with Anglers Edge in the spring of 08. I can tell you first hand Bob is a stand up guy. When I didn't get any bits on the boat after a couple of weeks I called Bob and we discussed changing the Ad. I told him I'd like to change some pictures and wording, He said no problem and within a couple of days all the ads were changed. I sold the boat to a fisherman in Texas who drove all the way up to N J were I live to pick it up. Bob recommend a surveyor (Dunk) to the buyer, He check out the Mako and gave the buyer a thumbs up and the deal was made. It was the best $200.00 I ever invested. Bob Also got me one hell of a deal on a Garmin GPS. I wold recommend his service to everyone. The treatment your getting here sucks. Both Bob and Dunk are sponsors on the Bass Barn and here. By the way Dunk is also a good guy to deal with. Let's see if this thread disappears. I first saw Bob's service on the Bass Barn site. No games there.
Thanks Bob
Larry O.

All I can say is that Bob at Angler's Edge DELIVERS on what he says-end of story. He brings true value for his time here and being a paid vendor, he should be treated better...

There are certainly some lawbreakers in the Classifieds, or people that own a lot of boats one or the other.
You got that right. There are dealers listing boats all the time as "private" sales. Due to some unscrupulous and deceitful tactics of one I reported them several days ago yet the thread is still there making believe it's a private sale........Selling multiple boats as a commercial entity for a one time cost of $25 is the deal of the century.
Re: NOTE TO INTERNET BRANDS AND THE MODS HERE ON THT
What Bob isn't telling you is that his PM's have been answered but he didn't like the answer. Bob doesn't seem to like the posting rules that apply to vendors that keep them from filling every forum. The other thing that Bob isn't telling is that he KNOWS posts like this are against his advertiser agreement but he makes them anyway to try and get attention.
As for threads being moved, if it's in the boating section and doesn't directly relate to a boating issue, it's moved when discovered. What no one seems to realize is that the Mods are not here on a 24 hour basis, we need to sleep and have other jobs as well so something may go untouched for a half day or so. The Mods that spend their time trying to keep this place in order and civil are VOLUNTEER'S..... That means there is NO pay......
FWIW, the BOE thread was moved by ME because I felt it had outlived the purpose but BOE asked that it be put back since he had been referring other customer's to it instead of belaboring the point further by explaining it all over again. Has no bearing on the rest of the members.

You meen to tell us that Mods are not even IB payroll people?
That's correct, we volunteer to watch the forums according to guidelines set forth by IB as to content and subject matter. It requires anywhere from 2 to 3 hours per day but it helps keep this place under some sort of order. Now if you would like to make a donation to our cause?????
Re: NOTE TO INTERNET BRANDS AND THE MODS HERE ON THT
Absolute friggin LIE. I have not had one reply from one mod on a half dozen PMs. EVEN now you have moved the thread and still not answered my last PM.
I dont have a problem with the rules as long as you inforce them on everyone. Everyone here knows you DO NOT! That or you are blind. Since you always catch mine I am guessing your sight is good.
Of course the Mods have to sleep. Of course they aren't here everyday.....Here is the problem. The NON PAID SPONSORS that are posting commercially that I told you people OVER a month ago!! They are still there. You have done squat. You're on my ass in a second and I pay you. The free guys get to keep doing what ever the F they want. Not fair and that is what this thread is about.
If any one of you mods returned my PM's then please cut and paste from your sent folder date panel and everything included. I would love to see it
The thread that you had moved was posted by one of my customers yet you moved it anyway. It was sitting right next to the "West Marine Huge Sale thread. Again why was that one overlooked? Just curious
Real nice. You MODS don't return ANY of my PMs and then come on here and tell me I am a liar. You better bring some proof becuase you have a lot of people to convince that I am anything but an honest guy.
You and IB need to get some kind of communication going on. There seems to be none. I have been trying to reach a mod so that I could quit getting what seems like third hand answers. It's pretty frustrating. When I signed up I was told by IB "No problem with having just one thread going in the classifieds section" I even took them to other websites I am a sponsor on to show them what I meant and they said "Sure no problem" Then 6 months later the rules change. They tell me its you mods. They can't really control what you do here. Then they tell me you are not paid employees and have no power here. Then I am told if I post in the classifieds again the "mods" will ban me. That sounds like power to me...Which is it. Power? No power? I don't know who I am suppose top talk to anymore. You guys don't answer PM's I was hoping this thread would at least get one of you guys to talk to me. Still no PM.

So what exactly is your motivation to work for free?
If you still have some extra "free" time I have a few positions I'd love to fill with volunteers, give me a call.
Re: NOTE TO INTERNET BRANDS AND THE MODS HERE ON THT
Bob,
Hate to say it but you are wasting your breath. The moderators on this forum don't even post under their real screen names....as should be the case. They hide behind their nom de plume and delegate their "justice".
THT Mod 1,
You comment about not only moving threads that are not related to the forum they were first posted in holds no merit. I know of at least 2 that have been moved from the Boating Forum to Dockside Chat, and they were definitely boating related. You and your counterparts need to get on the same page.....at least offer some consistency in your actions.
Bob has a valid argument.....if he is guilty of posting threads about services he offers that you see as inappropriate, it's because non-sponsors do it with impunity. After all, he at least pays for the right to advertise here. At least allow him to get what he has paid for.

I'll only be willing to volunteer moderate the Sand Bar. I promise to do a great job.

Are there currently any THT members who volunteer as MODS, allowing them to use their THT name on certain posts and then use the MOD log in when they are volunteering?
